Great game for both sides. Both teams showed a lot of class in this one. Go pirates!!!

Congratulations Powell Co!

Good game, but if you would have told me that EC would have scored 21, I certinaly would not have thought Powell would double that
09-23-2011, 11:34 PM
congrats to Powell

Estill played a good game on the line but when powell started passing and going outside they just couldnt cover it all. Powell doesnt pass unless they have to but they can if needed.

Congrats Powell, the Pirates are having a great season.
I'm assuming EC couldn't stop the "belly"

They did a pretty good job the first quarter and into the 2nd. But powell just wore them down. Powell's quickness is making up for their lack of size.
09-23-2011, 11:39 PM
Nope they couldn't stop it. Also they are not one-dimensional like alotta people thought they were. Thats a pretty fast hard hitting D for powell. Keep it up guys! 5-0!

Sounds like a train wreck happened in powell county tonight!
09-23-2011, 11:56 PM
Congrats Pirates
That was classy of Powell to come over and kneel down and say a prayer with our team after one of our players had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance, That was a classy thing by the Pirates. Thanks Powell, I'm sure it meant alot to those players.
If Powell can beat Garrard next week, Powell won't lose another game rest of the season
Engineers keep your heads up, put this behind you and go take care of business next week against Bourbon County

Mario shut the hell up. This was prolly one of the cleanest games between powell and estill. My prayers goes out with the young man that got hurt tonight. I hope he gets well soon. Estill is a good team. Young and have time to improve. #2 is a player.

^ haven't heard nothing about him yet. last we heard is that they might have to take him to UK, on the way home, drove up around the hospital and didn't see his dad's truck. Don't knwo if they took him to Winchester or to irvine or took him straight to Uk. This was a good clean game, cleanest I've seen in awhile.

Estill done a good job against the belly, Powell dominated with sweep, and Estill struggled vs. the pass.

We passed the ball 3 times for about 99 yds. We got most of our yards on sweeps and a few counters. Great game. Our stands were full for this one. It really looks good to check out the stands and see all the support. The tunnel that the students made for us coming out and going back in the locker room was awesome. Thanx and believe it or not, there was some great sportsmanship going on. Good job on both sides. We are praying for the kid that got injured. Roughly, we had 246 on the ground and 99 thru the air. We had Estill with 186 on the ground and 50 thru the air. These are quick add ups and are not official.

Powell plays Fairview the last week I believe. That game could be very interesting. I don't know who the home team will be in that one but that's who I'm taking.

I'm honestly not surprised and that is no knock on EC. Powell is very improved and a very good team this year.
09-24-2011, 01:32 AM
Powell continues to impress, congrats to them. Hope the young man that was injured is ok.
09-24-2011, 01:36 AM
Great to see Powell having this kind of year. Keep up the hard work guys.

Powell should beat Fairview
I just talked to his sister, he's home and doing good, nothing's broke. He's just gonna be sore for couple days. His status for next week's game against Bourbon County is uncertain right now. Thanks everyone for all the prayers and support and thanks to powell for there classy act tonight.
