Leslie Co. vs Harlan Ind. 9/23
#1
I say Harlan by 3 scores. What are your thoughts and predictions?

I say not so fast, my friend...

Leslie at home.... By a very narrow margin.. Not a shootout like Harlan has been used to of late..

Will be a fun game to be at....

IRTW,I knew that would get a rise out of you. And you're right it should be a fun game to watch. If the Dragons play like they did last night you guy's will kill us. I think they should have all the kinks worked out by then though. We fumbled 7 times last night and lost 3 of them. But Lynn Camp lost a few too. It was an extremely physical game. Lynn Camp may not beat you but they will hit you. You all played Williamsburg, neck and neck and lost,at Williamsbug. We were three td's better than Williamsburg at our place,so I will say,Harlan by 10 at Leslie Co. Does that sound better? Let me ask you this, IRTW,why do you say no shootout? When I say shootout I mean two good passing teams trading blows. But I don't see Leslie as that kind of team. I think you all are more balanced and maybe run the ball a little more than pass it. I don't think the home crowd advantage thing will mean that much because we will bring a large crowd over next Friday night. Our fans are very loyall and travel well. We had more fans at Middlesboro than Middlesboro did for cry'in out loud. Should be a good game though.

Not riled up at all..
I'm really looking forward to getting this game back on the schedule because of the proximity of the schools.. Not too far apart and both football schools..
It's hit and miss with Leslie Co. You'll see, we'll run 55+ players out and we'll look athletic and you really never know what you are gonna get yet.. Been a while since we've been competitive and now that Coach Melton has that program heading in the right direction, those kids are just starting to get the feel of how to win.. But it is still hit and miss.. When they understand how good they can be, and put it all together, Leslie will be VERY dangerous..

They'll run it some, but, Ethan Horton is close to 300 yds. per game this season since he has started playing. They have a ton of weapons on offense and good speed.

Should be a fun game to watch.. will be a HUGE crowd over here as I think it is Homecoming weekend..

I agree IRTW,Leslie is on the rise. Harlan and Leslie have had some battles over the years. You guy's beat us my senior year at Harlan,10-9. That was in the '83 season. You all kicked, what was said to be,the first fieldgoal that Leslie had kicked in like 20 years. It was a 30 yarder right there on Gilley field at Harlan, with time running out. It was a great game. One that, before the game,we were picked to win. So,I know all about what Leslie Co. will do to you if you don't play your best. Great competitor's.

We're just glad to be able to be in position to compete again.

Coach Melton and his staff have really worked hard getting the kids out to play and have an interest in football again over here.. We never played Harlan when i was in school.. But theres alot of tradition over there and JB can really coach..

Harlan is a very good football team and they do not turn the ball over. Leslie is definitely on the rise and if they can get some players back from injury I think it will be a great game. LEslie has to patch up some problems in the secondary and not bite on Harlan's play action because Saragas is excellent at execution. They also have to value the football and not turn it over. Williamsburg did beat Leslie last week in a great game, but that was not the same Williamsburg team that lost to Harlan. Yes he is my cousin but Sizemore makes a huge difference for that team. They lost to a beast of an Onieda TN team last night who will probably be the best team they play until playoffs.

My prediction is Leslie gets the win 26-22 and Hobert Asher gets more targets and has a big game along with Horton.
