Knott County Central

Going to be one crazy basketball season for sure. I was giving the edge to Knott and Buckhorn to win the region but with this transfer coming in that puts PCC as my favorite

Once you start bringing in transfers instead of using homegrown kids, then you lose the Cinderella status.

As Cordia alumni, I don't want the school to have the Cinderella status, tired of that status. We want to be up their with the best teams instead of the bottom half.

wonder if you would have felt that way if the recruits had come when you were a senior and you found yourself riding the pine instead of playing

I would have been perfectly fine with it. I would love to ride the bench on a team that wins 20+ games. Playing time was never the factor with me, I always tried to be the best teammate that I could. There were games my Senior year where I only played like 5 minutes, then there were games I played 25 min and started. I didn't care about the playing time, just tried my absolute best to be a fan, and true loyal teammate to the rest of the team.
That is what is wrong about some of these kids. Worrying about there stats and minutes instead of the scoreboard.

If you are telling the truth here, you were never a real basketball player. Maybe a good fan, but not a player. I have never met a basketball player, someone who really had a passion for the game, who was perfectly fine sitting on the bench. And, you have to realize, if you didn't get to start when you did play, and according to you, at times didn't even get to play much, then if these boys had come along when you were playing, you very likely wouldn't have had a uniform at all and if you did you wouldn't have played at all. You would have been pushed so far down the bench that your butt would have fallen off and hit the floor.

I have been at the end of the bench before.....and did start several games my senior year, but because I had a better week of practice the week leading up to those games than the other boys. Denny told me I had earned a start them games and he started me. I do have a passion for ball, never say I do not. But I knew that even though I loved it, I was not going to cry and ***** over playing time because it wasn't worth it. There are more important things than ball, but I do love it. And I hardly played against LCC and Knott. Those were the games I didn't play much against. I didn't play against them cuz I am short, slow, and couldn't guard them. Last part makes me laugh, and if these boys had came last year I still would have had a uniform.

How many boys were on Cordia's varsity last year?

OK. You probably would have still got a uniform. If these recruits get their regional title, only 15 boys can dress at state tournament max, and that is only if there are 5 or less on the coaching staff. There can only be 20 total on the bench. Let's see, there are 3 Texas boys, 2 new ones that aren't there but are probably coming, Zack Owens and Tyler Fugate from KCC. That's all I know of. If you were number 7, seven more recruits would only push you to 14, you most likely would at least be on the bench. Unless Cordia has more than 6 on the coaching staff. Congratulations, you would have had a Lion's uniform! But, you see how the boys a couple seats down from you wouldn't have had. Wonder what they would think if they saw this post.

Aye if ya ant good enough to play. Either do what wall2wall said suck it up and don't b**** or quit its their choice. I understand if your better then someone and their on the floor and your riding the pine, but thats not happening at cordia. Thats more pron to happen at kcc or somewhere where politics come into play. But Rhodes is gonna play who he thinks should and who their daddy is ant gonna affect his decision one bit. IMO even if you are a senior if a transfer comes and he better then you at your postion, bust your ass to get better or sit back and watch the new kid take over. The coach can't make a player good, thats all left up to the player.

It's big of you to feel that way. You aren't getting bumped by players who were recruited from half way across the nation. But you are right about one thing, if these boys and the adults over there at Cordia are going to put up with it, they deserve what happens. Now, the rest of the 14th region can decide just if they are going to sit back and let these boys come in take over and still the thunder from their kids or are they going to give the KHSAA enough h*ll that they have to enforce their own rules. It is just so out of hand that it's a shame that adults are letting it happen.

First of all, it would be nice if you actually posted this reply.
My question to you Kentuckians is this: Why do you need out-of-state transfers to glorify your high school basketball programs? Why do you need to be sneaky and illegal with recruiting? Why are you insulting your local high school kids with this scam?
You should be ashamed of yourselves and this is how adults give kid's athletics a bad name. I have heard enough to question the legality of this "transfer" to post here. IT SMELLS! Tell Jaysean Paige the truth and let him return to WNY. You can't falsify his grades and think you are helping him!
Are you that pathetic?

I don't know a thing about Jaysean's grades, but this Kentuckian agrees 100% with the rest of your post!!!!!

Thanks Irish I posted a couple of pages ago about why wouldnt Logan accept him and enroll him.....You are about to get some stuff stirred up with your post.....I LOVE IT

Why does UK need out of state players to glorify it's program? To compete!!! It's about winning, and thats the bottom line. If you just want to PLAY basketball, go play in the local church league, or at the local park. If you want to be a basketball PLAYER, get in the gym, go to basketball camps, and get your game up! Most basketball PLAYERS want to win, and understand when they are not better than someone else, they don't have to like it, but they understand. And for me its not about KENTUCKY basketball, its about BASKETBALL. Hopefully these out of state transfers send a message, that "you had better work on your game." I'm not talking about any specific kid, just in general. Just MY opinion, and it doesn't mean much...lol

You get it but you don't want to get it. I know you want to stir things up with it's all about BASKETBALL, but you and I both know there is more to life than high school basketball, oh excuse me, Kentucky high school basketball. You're proving the pathetic point.

Actually the article I read did not portray Perry Central in a very good manner. I thought he came with his dad who was an IT specialist at TECO. It stated that he said he was going to live with his mother. Isn't the coach at Logan who turned him down for whatever reason a "Hatcher". 14th region gone wild.

Just looked it up to make sure. The coach for Logan High School is Mark Hatcher. I believe he may be the son of Perry Central coach Allan Hatcher. Very interesting.

You sound like a Cordia fan. Perry fans seem to be able to dish it out to Cordia but they sure can't take it when the shoe is on the other foot.

First just let me say I have a lot of feelings for the KIDS at Perry Central. This is not degrading them in any way but where the hell was all this talk of giving somebody a frigging break when my son transferred? Just curious. I will get the opportunity to see Perry Central and Sheldon Clark play because I will be there to root on the Perry Central Commodores. Go Dores!
P.S.
Wish somebody at Perry Central would have given me a Job or Pike Co...LOL :lmao:
