Former Shelby County OT starting at next level

Former Shelby County High School Offensive tackle Matthew Axline earned the starting right tackle spot this past spring and got his first D1 college start for for UT Martin last thursday at Jacksonville State in the OVC.

OVC is not D1 in football. but still congrats to the young man. good to see a ky boy in a starting lineup

UT-Martin actually is D1. It is A D1-AA school. Congrats to Matthew.

Actually, the OVC is D1, just D1 FCS as opposed to D1 FBS. Granted they are not on the level of the SEC or Big East, etc, but they are D1, not D2, D3 or NAIA.

Congratulations to Matt Axline and the Shelby Co program.

I don't really care what division it is, Congratulations to Matthew Axline on his first start as a college freshman... Oh yea, by the way, UT Martin is D-1 FCS and not the FBS... But who cares, he's getting a free ride to get his education and play the game he loves, Football...

My son is a high profile d-lineman for Louisville & when they played SC when he was a junior Axline did one heck of a job ! The kid has d1 size that's for sure & he was tough & had good feet.
