His dad isn't a miner.
If I was informed correctly he is an IT specialist.
He works for the mines....
just not as a miner.
But that's neither here nor there.
However, I'm sure you will run with that one lol

You would be surprised to know how many Coach's and AD's around the mountains know me and have me listed on their pass gate.
........don't live on Lotts Creek dumba**.......over 100 people more well known through the mountains as you. Just because you know a coach, doesn't mean you are a fixture in the sports community. Having connections with coaches you may have.....bt fixture you are not.

That makes more sense. Actually I have a lot of connections with TECO both in Kentucky and in Tampa, Florida so I will check around before I do any running. It sounds legitimate as his father is moving here and he is not living with the coach in the dorms or an apartment.

I've not got anymore time to waste on you, bro.
I could care less how many more people are known through the mountains than me.
I take the time out of my day to report on sports news, interview coaches, put together rankings, and cover games around the mountains because it's something I like to do and I wouldn't fool with it if I didn't think I was good at it or that I was putting out material that wasn't worth reading.
Your thoughts on how big of a fixture I am are the least of my worries.
I get paid based on how many people read my articles and if over 1000 people a week take the time out of their day to read what I have to say I think that constitutes as being a "fixture" in the sports community in the mountains.
If you don't think so then that's up to you and no one can make you think anything you don't want to.
You'll be pleased to know that from here on out I'm never quoting your posts again and if I can keep myself from it I won't read them again either.

I would almost bet that Rhodes promised them that he could produce some players from other places to enhance their program when he was hired. Any type of recruiting is illegal whether money was used or not.

Rhodes knew these boys and their families personally before he ever took the job. If he had took the Owsley job or the Harlan job they would be right their with him. Recruiting...maybe, but he knew them already. So these kids were already coming with him no matter where he went.
You can't say Hatcher already knew this kid. The first time he ever heard of Hatcher, the first time he ever heard of Hazard and Perry County was either when he talked with Hatcher, JPA, or Punkin for the first time, probably on phone.

The only way you will ever be a fixture in the Mountains is the day you are on Sports Overtime as an anchor. You can do all the reporting you want on your website, the camera man for wymt are a bigger fixture than you.

If he talked with them about playing for Cordia after he was hired as a coach while they were still enrolled at another high school regardless of what state, that is considered illegal recruiting. You guys need to read the KHSAA bylaws instead of guesstimating what they may be. As far as the kid at PCC, he is living with his father. Proving that he was recruited will be way more difficult if true or not.

I am not saying he didn't recruit cuz he did, but what I am saying is that he talked to them about playing before Joel Melton even called him, before he ever heard of Cordia. Recruiting is recruiting, but honestly what school the past 15 years in this region have not. Every school in this region recruits, except for Riverside.

Do I think every school has had someone recruit. Yes. Do I think that all coaches do it. No. I know for a fact that some do not recruit. The issue here is that most of the other schools do not admit to doing it nor do they give explicit details online on how they did it.

What does your dumb a** not understand that his dad was sent here for work? I'm sorry but not JPA Punkin or anyone has the connections in new york to make something like this happen. Quit being butt hurt that PCC is going to most likely dominate now.

Yeah I can see Punkin cruising through NYC in a big yeller cab trying to recruit a player...hahaha thats a good one. Did you ever think that maybe it was just that when moving here, and being in search for a school to enroll in, that maybe, just maybe they read all the good things about Perry's athletic program, and decided that is where he would best fit in, especially on the basketball floor.......I mean they did make a trip to the Sweet 16 last year. Wouldn't you choose Perry if you were in his shoes???? DUHHH

Actually, I think he did. This transaction came via Hatcher's son in Logan WV, seems that the Logan folks were getting tired of the recruits so Coach Hatcher Jr sent this kid and family to PCC to help ole Dad out!
