Perry Central 35 - Prestonsburg 34
#31
The roughing the passer call on 4th Down was weak... yea the QB got touched... wont say he was hit because he didnt hit the ground. The Pburg player ran into him as he was pulling up, let off and the Perry QB turned and started walking toward the sideline.. then came the flag.

Wasn't really as fun a game to watch as the score would indicate. Lots of flags called on both teams, lot of dropped passes, and many bad throws from the QBs.
Officials were awful, they seemed clueless at times.
Matt Robinson, what can I say? Hell of a game.
Perry clearly looked like the better team, they just didn't play well tonight.

Yeah, they said on Sports OT that it took 2 hours just to complete the 1st half due to all the penalties!

I was at the game and I wasn't cheering for anyone... But the refs were just all around "bad" both ways.... Refs didn't win or lose this game for anyone both teams had there chance to win and Perry took theirs.....

Lots of Penatlies in the game on both sides. I myself did not see that late kid that give PCC a first down, But i was watching the ball. PCC did not look like the better team. They did the 1st half but the 2nd half was Prestonsburg. They was unstoppable. Perry never give up in this game and thats a good thing. P-burg has nothing to hang there heads about. This is one of those games that i really didnt want to see a winner but PCC won so game over. Perry will see how good they are next week as they will get punched in the mouth all game by JC.

Good Post. Those refs did act clueless at times, well for most of the night but they didnt make the out come of this game.

The two refs I knew in this one were, Brian Napier(head lineman) and Chris Sabo (Umpire)

I bet Perry Central wishes they had a challange flag on that P'Burg TD Sabo called a catch... It was right in-front of me and it was close....

Isn't both of them Perry Central people and FANS. The plot thickens. I have seen Brian Napier call many games and this makes me think the Prestonsburg fans complaints might be legit. I cannot say anything negative about Sabo as I do not know who he is.

 Yeah... When Perry scored people started giving me high-5 and then they seen who I was and they were like "Oh Sorry"

Brian did a Very good job tonight.... and I really don't like him that much...

I was there as a neutral fan. Worst called game i have seen in a long time. Heck the game lasted 3 1/2 hrs because of so many flags. Perry controlled the first half as pburg struggled on offense and their defense kept them in the ball game.
Second half i really felt pburg controlled other than a couple big pass plays.
Its just sad that a game this exciting and close is deciding by a couple questionable calls. The roughing the passer was not very iffy and the flag was thrown way late. Yes, pburg did jump offsides, however it was an illegal formation and it really looked as if a pcc lineman flinched that drawed them offsides.
Pcc has a nice team and so does pburg. Both teams will have good seasons but both have tough schedules. Pburg must now regroup and head to the rock and perry better get ready for a load of jj jude. Could be a very long night for both teams if they dont bring their "a" game.

I wasnt there so I dont know anything bout the game but I thought Pburg was the better team going into this match and with these two reffing a PCC game we may never know who was the better team. I dont know much bout sabo, I've heard couple things on him being a PCC homer but Brian "Spuds"Napier is one of the worst officals in the entire state. I know many coaches dont want him in their games during the basketball season. He probably had a couple hundos on this game. Congrats PCC.
#44
Regardless they shouldn't have called that game.

 Brian Napier couldn't call hogs.

I know what your talking about in Basketball and Brian does like to bet on sports (not saying high school) but in football Brian Napier was ref'ing in the State Championship game last season... So I guess football coaches and refs really think high about him...
#47
ANYONE KNOW THE EXTENT OF THE JAMERSON INJURY? i WAS TOLD IT WAS A STRINGER.
#48
Brian was the white hat in this game so he made all the calls but they all weren't his flags....
#49
Despite all the calls I just wanna know why in the heck the refs let PCC's coach stay on the field the ENTIRE game without even a warning... I mean he was in the dang huddle at times! And was out to the hashes almost every play.

Ekff I know that you are well aware of politics playing a big part in who gets the state tournament games. Lets look at the the history of officiating in the 14th region. Tommy Hutton has almost refereed more state tournament games then anybody. Look where he is at now.

Hey, Tommy Hutton's personal programs had nothing to do with his ref'ing... He was the best in the mountain and one of the best in the state...

But I do agree politics plays a big part in who gets the state championship games, but no one will help Brian so I really don't think he's as bad in football as he is in basketball and baseball...
#52
With everything that has been said when it came down to it the game was won by the players at the end....

It came down to Perry needed to score and P'Burg needed a stop..... Perry made the play. (Period)
#53
I do agree with you about Tommy's officiating but it will always put question marks in the back of peoples minds. I loved having him as an official. Napier probably isn't as bad in football as the other two but that may still qualify as being horrendous.

I'm actually encouraged by this game. Pburg lost a nail biter under suspicious circumstances to a 5A school on the road. Nothing shameful there. Officiating was horrendous, horrendous, horrendous...but it was consistently horrendous both ways all night long. Nothing shameful there. (Was the sideline official on PCC's sideline even ALIVE???? Haddix was out PAST THE NUMBERS AND ON THE HASHMARKS all night long. Penalty? Of course not...Sideline warning? No way...I mean he was practically IN THE HUDDLE with them on nearly every play!!! Does Haddix have blackmail photos of this official with Satan or something??? And don't even get me started on the "fair catch"...)

I am encouraged by how Pburg played from the second quarter on after losing arguably its best offensive player and certainly its best defensive back in Jamerson. Gotta think that if he is in the game it makes a difference on all those long passes PCC completed in the second half. Just the fact that Pburg found offense AFTER losing Jamerson for the game against a bigger, faster, and more athletic 5A team speaks well for the Blackcats.

This game will show both teams areas they need to improve on, and you can bet both teams will get better from this.

Congrats to PCC. Lots of speed, lots of athletes, and some very good linemen on that team. The Robinson boys are players...

Pburg, keep your heads up. Its a long season, this schedule was geared to ready you for the postseason, and playing competition like this, even if it results in a loss, is good experience.

Congrats to both teams as this one was a real nail-biter.
Congrats to both teams as this loss does nothing but inspire Prestonsburg and the win may carry over and keep the Commodores from getting completely blown out next weekend lol

I was at the game, the officiating sucked both ways. The stripes missed a lot of calls both ways. Late in the game, they missed a blatent late hit that one of the Pburg boys threw on one of our receivers. The offsides call was a no brainer. That's ok though, if and when PCC loses you won't see me on here crying about the refs. Why does it always come to this?

You P-Burg fans wanna talk about our coaches being on the field? I saw your coaches on the field just as much as ours. One time, while the chain gang was measuring a down, you woulda thought it was a full timeout. The ref had to literally tell your coaches, water girls, etc to get off of the field. You have no argument there whatsoever. That's why we all looked at you like you were idiots as you were screaming and crying that from the stands. I guess the sportsmanship speech they gave before the "contest" didn't do the trick.

Really? That's all you got?

How many unsportsmanlike conduct penalties did PCC get tonight???

Differences in the coaches being on the field is ours were out there during official time outs. Haddix was out there with the clock running. If you think they are the same thing, well...
