Top teams in the 16th region 2011-2012

Rowan should be number one on everybody's list, but it seems to me the rest is up for grabs.
What do you guys think?

1.) Rowan
2.) Ashland
3.) Boyd County
4.) Fleming County
5.) Russell - might be a little low but if they still had #35 they would be #2 but he has went to Boyd County so that boost them.

dont know .. austin hunt is his name but when i seen them play this summer he wasnt there and one of the parents from their team said he was at boyd. Think his parents made him if i recall correctly

Heard Justin Davidson isn't going to play for Russell either. So that buries them even deeper into the region ranks.

I think this is a good ranking of the top 5. Boyd has had a very good summer of ball. The boys are working hard getting stronger an playing more as a team everyday. The Lions should surprise alot of teams this season.

Yeah. I heard davidson isn't playing either.
I heard he was just gonna focus on football but I don't understand that because basketball comes after football..
I haven't heard anything on Fleming, or greenup and their new coach this summer.
How have they done?

I think Greenup will be a top 5 for sure. Lots of great vibes about the new coach. Russell without those players will be average. I'll say,
1. Rowan
2. Ashland
3. Fleming
4. Greenup
5. Boyd

Greenup will be better. New coach, graduation was a blessing. GC will be top 5. I also wouldn't count out West Carter.

1. Rowan (Three solid returning starters)
2. Ashland (Have some pieces to the puzzle......big question, who will step up and replace Delaney)
3. Fleming (Burns and company will be solid)
4. Boyd (Coach Anderson has done a great job, and with the transfer from Russell, they will be in the mix)
5.Greenup (No doubt they have potential, but can they get it done??)

I think Hunter will be the hardest to replace, with his inside defensive effort.

Hunt has been ruled ineligible at Boyd pending appeal. Look for Davidson to be on the hardwood for the Devils.

I think Ozzy was referring to the ease of becoming eligible if he was transferring from Rose Hill.

Justin Davidson has said that he will not play basketball this year due to the fact that he does not want to take a chance of injuring himself and ruining his chances of playing football at the college level. Also, I have heard that there are many players at Russell that are happy with the coaching staff.

I'm not sure if they will make a coaching change before season it's to late. How long has it been since they won the district?
