Just wanted to share this good article on the public/private school debate and some of the steps schools are taking. I think it was interesting

These "debates" I always find kind of funny. It always come down to how the private schools pull from a large area and the public schools have a very narrow pool of talent to draw from.
In Northern Kentucky I believe every public school district has some type of open enrollment. The schools are open to any student as long as they can get to the school. In some cases no tuition is paid as long as the student lives within the defined district( Kenton county for example a high school student can attend Dixie, Simon Kenton or Scott for free) but if you live out of the district you pay some type of tuition from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand

Whether a school is private or public does not determine its talent pool. That is up to the tradition of the program and the enthusiasm for the sport provided by the community
