Greatest Head to Head Battle

Let's hear some of the greatest head to head battles between two athletes in state's history. I will throw one out and say that Brian Brohm and Michael Bush in the state championship has to be close to the top.

My Rockcastle County Rockets game vs. Boyle County was the same day, if not the game right before it. I convinced my friends mom to let us stay and watch it. I am so glad she listened!

The Belfry vs. Elizabethtown 2A State Championship had a ton of star power on the field with 4 SEC multi-year starters.

Belfry
RB/CB David Jones- UK, had a cup of coffee with the Baltimore Ravens

E'town
DE Brandon Deaderick- Alabama, currently with the New England Patriots
QB Chris Todd- Auburn
TE/DE Zipp Duncan- UK, had a cup of coffee with the Philadelphia Eagles

In addition this the game also featured Doug Howard, arguably the greatest player in Belfry history.

It doesn't rival the Male vs. Trinity game but this overtime thriller with star players definitely deserves mention.

I don't think any head to head matchup tops Brohm vs. Bush in 2002. 1074 combined passing yards and 1 combined interception.

in 1992, Class A State Final Beechwood vs. Bardstown. Beechwood's Brandon Berger (way better baseball player, played for the KC Royals) and William Redd (major college football recruit, until bad choices interfered). both rushed for over 150 yds. Bwood won 21-14

i have a book by Les Krantz called "Not Till The Fat Lady Sings", has a dvd with Jim McKay as the narrator for some of the moments on there. Brohm vs. Bush is listed in there, that the book you're thinking of?
