Sacred Heart's Cross Country Coach Named National Coach of the Year
#1
Sacred Heart’s Rick Heim has been named the Girls’ Cross Country Coach of the Year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association.

According to its website, the NHSACA recognizes coaches “not just for a season of coaching, but for their lifetime achievements.”

Sacred Heart tied for second place in last year’s Class 3-A state cross country meet as senior Emma Brink won her fourth straight individual championship.

Heim also led Sacred Heart to the Class 3-A state track and field championship earlier this month.

That's awesome. Congrats to him, his program, and his kids!

It sure helps your coaching when you have the best runner ever out of ky on your team. Brink will be missed next year, not just by her team, but by everybody in the state; she was a joy to watch run!

Congrats to him. What an accomplishment. Imagine what he will say when he walks by that trophy/certificate/whatever and say, "Wow! For at least one season, I was the best in the USA"

I saw her race at the footlocker south regional meet in Charlotte NC. She was running against the "big girls" down there, and she was very impressive.

Not surprised one bit. Sacred Heart always has a really good team.
