8th Region Preview
#1
Will Walton-Verona repeat as champs? Will Anderson County atone for their disappointing season? Will someone else challenge for the crown?
#2
The 8th region continues to get better and better. It should be even more competitive next year with many talented players returning. Walton-Verona loses only one senior this year and runner-up Anderson County returns everyone, along with Collins. 8th Region player of the year Rianna Gayheart returns next year for her senior season at Owen County. South Oldham only had one senior this year and should be very good next year. Hannah Devine, who averaged 25.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game last year for Carroll County, will be a senior next year. It should be an exciting season next year in the 8th region.

Here are my early predictions for next year:

29th District:
1. South Oldham
2. Oldham County
3. North Oldham
4. Trimble County

30th District:
1. Anderson County
2. Collins
3. Spencer County
4. Shelby County
5. Eminence

31st District:
1. Owen County
2. Carroll County
3. Gallatin County
4. Henry County

32nd District:
1. Walton-Verona
2. Simon Kenton
3. Williamstown
4. Grant County

Overall:
1. Anderson County
2. South Oldham
3. Walton-Verona
4. Owen County
5. Collins
6. Oldham County
7. Carroll County
8. Simon Kenton
9. Gallatin County
10. North Oldham

Top Players:
1. Rianna Gayheart - Sr. - G - Owen County
2. Jasmine Whitfield - Sr. - G - South Oldham
3. Hannah Devine - Sr. - G - Carroll County
4. Sydney Brown - Sr. - C - Anderson County
5. Aaliyah Wells - Jr. - G/F - Collins

What a post! WOW!

Great post 1424. I would only make two changes. 1st Eminence is going to the 31st district and 2nd Grant County will probably be much better than Williamstown in the 32nd district. It is nice to see post when someone has done their homework.

Really? I didn't know that Eminence was moving to the 31st district. It makes sense though. Thanks for the input on Williamstown and Grant County. Those two teams are probably the ones I know the least about in the 8th region.

There are a few transfers that I know of:

Sarah Parr (Collins) - Mercy
MacKenzie Raizor (Collins) - Shelby County
Savannah Raizor (Collins) - Shelby County
Michelle Roberts (Collins) - Shelby County
Myah Pace (Collins) - Indiana

Why does Collins have so many transfers?

Great Post,
I say for the 1st time in school History, Owen Co will win the 8th.
Owen will have about 7 good players, but they do not have much height

Neeley from Owen should be in easy in the top 10

I'm not sure why they left. I do know that Myah Pace is moving to Indiana but I don't know why the others are leaving.

That is quite possible. Walton-Verona won their first ever this year, maybe Owen will win their first ever next year.
