What do the Cardinals need to do in order to make it back to the State Championship Game and possibly repeat as 1A State Champs?

Win, win, win!
Develop their inexperienced new line and qb. Defense should be strong right out of the gate but the O may take time. They will have unreal depth at all the skill positions for a 1A team more in line with what you would expect from a much larger classed team but they will likely have a learning curb and to get back to state that line will be a huge key

we will have a lot of work cut out for us. New qb from georgia they say he has a hell of an arm but that he needs work on accuracy. the o line def needs experiance but itshould be a good year. we will be there again . we always get it together at the end of the year.

The road should go through Mayfield this year. Its not because there champs its because Beechwood has to come to Mayfield and win.

If what I hear is happening actually materializes - that one or two of Lone Oak's top receivers/defenders are/may/will/have/could transfer to Mayfield - Mayfield just became the odds on favorite to repeat in 1A.

From what i've read the defense will probably be better than last year, and thats scary. With work in the off season & as the season progresses the offense should be fine. The defense will take care of everything else.
Last years team was a beast to be reckoned with. I really thought Hazard would make a good showing, but Mayfield was just way to much for them to handle.

Hazard moved the ball well early in the game and costly turnovers costed them scores. I think mayfield changed there defense to a 3-4 and controlled hazard the rest of the game.

Their services will not be needed or wanted due to the circumstances surrounding their desire to transfer and that has been made clear to them. The parents are both from Mayfield but the dad lives in McCracken Co. That said they could enroll but they will not be allowed to play for us even we the KHSAA's blessing. They have now decided to stay at LO

Hats off to Mayfield for doing the right thing. Just because a kid steps in it should not be reason to transfer. This cant do a lot for building morale and unity at Lone Oak.
