This recent Ohio State situation has got me thinking recently.
If you were the AD at UK and Tressell called you and said, i want to coach there, would you fire Joker and take him?
Personally ive thought over and over on this. Tressell hasnt been implemented in anyway in the allegations and it seems the players were doing all of this on their own with or without his knowledge, and they could never really put anything on him. So with that said, if Tressell was completely cleared of all things and was good to go and you were mitch barnhart, would you do it?
After much consideration, i think i would. Honestly, the guys a recruiter, and although he has always dominated the big ten, hes had some good players art Ohio State, and i honestly think he could bring them into UK.Oh, and not to mention, Joker will never win the SEC East, its just a simple fact. He simply cant compete in the recruiting dept. with other SEC coaches. This is also assuming that we wouldnt have to pay Tressell anything close to what he was making at OSU. And i know, i know, Tressell has been spanked over and over again by SEC teams, leave that out of the discussion, everyone already knows that, im simply asking why you would or wouldnt.
What do you all think?

But at this level D1 he is 1/3. As the post above states Tressell is a proven winner so to answer the question, Yes I'd take him. I do have faith in Joker tho.Give the man some time.

I thought most of you would agree with me, and any man whos took any team all the way would be a great candidate.
I just honestly think that a move like that would make UK more attractive to recruits and more appealing.
Lets say Tressell would come in. Could you imagine the automatice support from UK fans he would recieve, something thats very hard to get for all the others who have coached the football program. I would love to see the recruits from Ohio start pouring in because you know he has connections there and i can only imagine how many "boosters" would donate money to help get him here.
As one of you said, Joker may be fine after a couple of years, but what if hes not? Then hes just another UK football coach who has failed. I was hoping UK would have left there options open instead of doing the "coach in waiting" bull. Hopefully im wrong, but i honestly see Joker staying 4 or 5 years with 2 or 3 bowl game losses before getting fired.

Who are we kidding? Tressel wants no part of KY , he wants no part of the SEC. Tressel record against the SEC is what like 1-9. Only win coming last season against Arkansas playing players that were ineligible. Tressel has been bite by the snake everytime he has tried to catch it. If he ever coaches again, he'll probably go west to the Pac 10. Tressel dont wont a part of the best football in the country (SEC)

As i said in my first thread (which you obviously didnt read all the way through and jumped to your ignorant remarks) i said everyone on here knows tressell has been spanked repeatedly by the sec and we know that, im sure every member of the site does, thats why i asked what your opinion of him coming to uk and what could/couldnt he do here.

He would not be able to win in the SEC. He could barely do it against arkansas with alot better recruits than he would ever get at UK. I never drank the Ohio State Kool-aid to me they would have been average in the SEC just about every year he was there. He can win in the weak conferences but when it comes time to play big boy football his teams cannot do it.

He created teams at THE Ohio state to win within the Big 10. If he went to an SEC school he would create teams that would win in the SEC. A great coach is a great coach

I will say till the day I die that Coach K is a dirty Cheater. On the rung below him you have coaches like Calipari who don't have to cheat any more but probably still do

Because I hate a cheater more than anything is why I mention it. And Coach K has built a awesome basketball program at a school where kids have to actually go to class, they play in a enlarged high school gym. He has to have something bringing the talent to him. He has no advantage in recruiting compared to the schools around him. He reminds me of John Wooden who was a dirty dirty cheater but will never be investigated Because it was "A Different Time". Same thing with Coach K. Calipari has been forever blemished for something Krzyzewski did 8 years beforehand and since people love to not believe it here is a source.

Coach K is the "golden boy" of college athletics, and the NCAA will never ever harm his image. I would bet the farm that a few years after he retires the truth will start coming out of the woodwork, and honestly I think we all know it.
As for the comment about Calipari being on the rung below him. Now that Calipari is at Kentucky he doesn't have to cheat to bring in talent and keep them eligible because simply playing in rupp arena for every home game is a HUGE deal for a recruit. Memphis, and UMass will never have that kind of program so therefore he had to bend the rules to be succesful on a national level at those schools.
