Clay County 8th grader Jacob Reid won the overall meet for his age division. This kid is STRONG. He is 5'10 190 and will play linebacker and fullback for the Tigers soon. Congrats to him and all the CCHS Tigers. We are looking for big things out of our team this season and into the future...Go Tigers!!!

He won his weight class in junior high. There was no overall Junior high winner. They do that at the North/south meet. North Laurel had a very strong 8th grader also.

Andrew King broke his own State Record and got 475 on bench from what I hear.

He got that but did not place in his weight class. He was 6th.

Not sure who all placed in seperate weight divisions but I do know this: Clay County has a lot of STRONG underclassmen. They will only have a few seniors this season but the next several after that they will be solid. As far as the Reid kid goes I would put him up against any 8th grader in Kentucky in the weight room or on the field as being a beast. Sam Carr also has great speed as an 8th grader and the Holland kid is a big strong kid also. Those as well as other incoming freshman need to work hard and make the Tigers proud in the future. Go Tigers!!!

i hit 475 bench, 315 squat, 225 clean. i hit 510 in the gym, just had a bad day with 475. it went up easy, but then the idiots running the show only gave me 60 seconds to rest between 475 and 500. i just didnt have any gas left. yea my other lifts are weak, i had knee surgery 5 months ago. i was almost squatting 6 before surgery. youll see a 600 bench next year.

I think Harlan Co. Tucker Lewis had knee surgery around the same time. what did he squat at the meet?
