How will the Hawks fair out this year?
Remember no bull **** and none of that non sense can be discussed until they are confirmed. PHS will close this one again if you do so don't bring it up.

Actually, as I said before, I think that will be better than last year.

Hawks will be better then last year that is what I think. Why ? They have one of the top QB in the state. They have the receivers to catch the ball. They are stronger and faster. And I think they will have a running game this year. That is all they worked on in spring ball.

Just want to wish Pike Central Hawks a great 2011 season !!! GO HAWKS

Whats going on up on the hill this off season?

I think the best thing for Pike Co. Central is that they have a good off. line coming back. They'll be able to protect Boggs so he can do his work. Just from looking at him on the KHSAA site he may be the best all around QB at least in the mountains, but I've never watched him play. Personally,I believe they'll have a real good season. They have alot to work with. I really wish the best for the kids at Pike Central, they deserve it. GO HAWKS !!!

Based upon what I've been reading on this thread, I would have to believe that Pike Central will do well this football season. Boggs is most definetly a very good quarterback.

Moreover, it also appears that they have quite a few other young men returning that will be contributors in 2011.

I look for it to be a great season for the hawks. I believe they have the talent to beat both Sheldon Clark and Belfry this season to win the 8th district and make a deep run in the playoffs.

Boggs is a monster, but the question is the offensive line. I believe the whole unit from last year is gone and you can't run or pass the ball if a defensive player is in your face before you get the chance to move. If the offensive line is there, then you can expect another fantastic year from PCC offensively. If not... try some screens? Lol.

On the KHSAA roster for Pike Central it shows that they have lost 3 seniors from thier corp of lineman. Whether they started or not I haven't a clue. The site also shows them to have 5 seniors this season and 6 juniors. Imo, they should be able to fill those 3 positions, assuming the 3 seniors were all starters. Seeing that Boggs had 400 yds rushing,I would be led to believe that he can scramble out of the pocket very efficiently. I look for them to put up big numbers this season.

They return one starter on the O-Line in Mark Maynard, but look for the Junior Josh Johnson and Senior Justin Runyon to step into starting roles on the line. They will have a hard time replacing Zack Johnson. He worked hiss *** off in the weight room and on the field. Look for Wes Pugh to be Boggs favorite target through out this season.

Can the kids from Breathitt play or not???

Can you read? Were not talking about that and besides there is no kids to it. Kids would be plural for more then one.

Yes Channing was a beast.

Watched Boggs through middle school and the various travel team basketball and baseball circuits. He can play any sport and is a high quality athlete. Anxious to see how his career pans out and if PCC can puts the right pieces around him, the team has unlimited potential.

In the 3 senior lineman, did you include losing Cody Hollon? He no longer goes to Pike Central.

There's no way they included Hollon in it. They did lose 3 seniors up front not counting him.

I'm sure that out of the 5 seniors,5 juniors and 5 sophomores they have to chose from this year they will be able to come up with a good enough line to protect and more importantly exploit Bogg's talent. I'm sure with his kind of talent he's not going to need a whole lot of time to do his thing. But, the more time the better. I hope they will be able to open some holes for Justin Smith to get more yards (400) than he did last year. Seems to me that they are going to need that to set up thier passing game. Also, I wish that the Hawks would have listed the stats of some of thier second team players. It would help when looking at whats coming next year.

Chapman likes stats just as much as he likes the media which isn't much. All he cares about is those 4 district games and the post season.

Thats great for the team. But it doesn't help us arm chair QB's much. Guess thats why we got BGR.

Pike Central lost 4 of their 5 starters across the line, and that number includes Cody Hollon. They will be young up front but very capable, Coach Smith will make sure that they will be ready to play. The big key will be depth across the board and being able to get more bodies on the field playing just one way. Overall the hawks are talented and should have another successful season playing in what may be the toughest district in the mountains. "GO hAWKS"

I agree with both above statements. I also think Pike Central will do well in the 2011 season. And I believe that if their district is not the toughest, I wonder which other district in the mountains would considered the toughest?
#24
I think you're right about that Contrarian. 3A district 8 is very tough and the team that wins d-7 could be a tough opponent in the playoffs. Tough row to hoe there.

the boys are eligible to play! now please stop with the rumors and nonsense. not trying to start anything just trying to clear things up!

PIKEcountyFAN Wrote:Can the kids from Breathitt play or not???

There is no kid or kids from Breathitt. All kids are from Pike Central...and all will be playing in orange and blue next year.

Thats great news for hawks fans knowing that beginning summer practice everyone will be their ready to challenge for a district crown. I didnt say win a district crown I said challenge, until they get that 1st win over belfry they will never be considered a true threat, but its coming, it may take a while but its coming.

Pike Central has a team???

So, the KHSAA ruled them eligible, for the 2011 football season? I can't find that on the KHSAA website. Hook me up with the site that confirms , thanks. I'm glad for the kids. But this is going to have alot of people questioning the KHSAA , regardless, good luck to the Pike Central Hawks!

Exactly my thoughts. Where's the front page headlines in the paper, reporting this?
