Boyles free ride in the watered down system is over. They get exposed in week 1 by 40!

They'll still have 6 more rings than you do.
You might want to look back at your history a bit before making comments like that. Five of their state championships came from 99-03. Two in 2A and 3in 3A, in the old 4 class system.

I do not understand your post? Highlands has more championships than Boyle, and the system is very watered down with the current system. Not that I agree with wideleft, but do not understand your post either. I just can't wait for for the Boyle/HHS game. I do think HHS wins fairly easily, but with being the first game of the year, you never know what to expect from either team. Highlands has shown to start the year out slow the past 2 years and click on all cylinders at the end of the year. Not sure how Boyle has started the seasons the past 2 years or how good competition was in the first couple of games. There is going to be alot of talk about this game in about 3 months, and it is going to be alot of fun. Great to see games like this and the excitement it brings.

Watered down system? Highland's, in 5A, had the easiest road to the state title game every year. In my opinion, the most competitive class has been 4A. Not saying that 4A has the best teams but from top to bottom it was the most competitive. I just want to welcome Highland's to 4A. They won't have it so easy now. However, Highland's deservingly should be the favorite to win it all. And like you, I cannot wait for the Boyle/HHS game. People might be surprised.
Boyle started off with Johnson Central and Franklin County in 2010. They started off with Johnson Central and Rockcastle County in 2009.

You are right, 5A was/is a joke;all the classes are. I agree that 4A is probably more competative, but the system is still a joke. 5A was easy for HHS, but overall class wise, 1A and 2A, and 3A would have been a breeze for HHS (yes Central would have been a good game possibly, but top to bottom, easier). Highlands had it easy in 5A class, but scheduled well outside of class. Do not think they have not seen/played teams better than Boyle. I think people from Boyle will be surprised also, because they think Highlands is the same as in the 90's. This team has really upped the talent and dedication to the program since the 90's (top to bottom, the talent is much better and alot more time put in the wt room and off season). Highlands fans respect Boyle's program, but feel we have tougher schedule and upper hand at the present time. This is a very exciting time for Highlands fans and program. By the way, how about alittle more insight on you up come season (top players, what type of O do you expect to see, special teams, what are D backs like, ect.).

I'm with sstack. I don't understand the "6 more rings" comment.
I appreciate fans' passion for their program, but at times it can cause unrealistic statements to be made/posted.
Glad that Boyle and Highlands are both in 4A again and will be playing each other. I think some Boyle fans are really feeling their oats after winning state championships the last two years after a down period.
With the teams in the same class, the debates as to which team is better can once again be settled on the field and not on the message boards (although I expect lots of debates on here and the other sites to continue).
It should be fun.

It's a shame that Highland's had to come to class 4A during Boyle County's "rebuilding year". No excuses but Highland's does return alot of talent while Boyle County was highly dependent on their seniors last year. However, I still think that it will be an interesting game. Both teams work hard during the off-season and I believe that both teams will be the top two in 4A. I wish the game were tomorrow.

4A is a little more open than just two teams, however Highlands is the favorite, for sure.

1A - Mayfield
2A - Owensboro Catholic
3A - Louisville Central
4A - Highlands
5A - John Hardin
6A - Trinity
The only one that seems highly likely is Trinity. All the others have the potential for several teams to win, if not some other outsiders. But of course, that's why they call these predictions!

They may lose the first game of the season against 2A Newport Central Catholic.

The Belfry Pirates will be there in 3A,will they win it all?

Lexington Catholic does scare me. They are going to be very good this year. Easily one of the top 3 teams. I think they will surprise everyone in 4A because they are somehow flying under the radar.

Trinity is the clear cut favorite to win it all. They are the best taem in the state, hands down. So I agree you're statement as a whole. It could be an interesting year outside of 6A. No disrespect to 6A.

Dixie will be without its starting QB for the first game of the season. That's really the reason I pick NCC to win.
