Magoffin County (21-5) on the season and have played well as of late. Won the last 6 of seven games before losing to Sheldon Clark in district championship. A lot of youth on the Hornet squad yet capable of getting to finals.

East Ridge (17-10) including four in a row and had to defeated Shelby Valley for the first time in three tries. Like the experience of McCarty to possibly getting the Warriors in the semi-final round.
