Next coach at Knox Central
#61
Radio, I completely agree with you my friend.... Jeff C will help in everyway he can...

Yogi is right, the man for the job is already there....

And to the rest of you all, like Radio said too, Scott Russell, Mr KY Football 1992, Current Off Coord, WILL BE THE NEXT COACH for the KC Panthers. He will maximize whats already started and do something Mills didn't, WIN CHAMPIONSHIP. Thing is, Russell will do it with a program he helped build and not with someone elses.... Wow!!! I bet that hurt someone...
#62
Oh, and the man to call the Def will be none other than Jeremy Napier... Just wanted to throw that in too..

How about ya Radio?

Someone told the other day that Log Mountain has been officially renamed to "The Pinnacle Mt." Is this true or false?

Scott, I also heard that when you take over you are going to start a new work-out program called "A little more umph." Is this true also?
#64
It is still Log Mountain.

"The Hilton", has moved..so ......make your reservations at "Mills Resort and Spa". For Knox there seems to be "No Vacancy"!!!
#65
I would say that's about right, "Mills Spa & Resort."

Dictionary.com
SPA: resort with a mineral spring

RESORT: a place much frequented, esp for recreation

Sounds like fun to me, and I bet the other teams will like it there too, NOW that Dudley is gone.... HAHA...

Any news ...just curious.
#67
The word last night was that they were going to announce this week that Scotty Russell is the new head coach. This came from employee at the school
#68
Any news out of Knox?
#69
Who has applied...any names to share?

While Coach Russell is probably the frontrunner the decision has not yet been made.

As i hear it from a site base member, The job isnt Russells just yet. A former knox county native and the son of a KC all american has put in for the job. He was a off coord for a team who reached the state regional finals this year. He has solid family ties to KC and in KC. So this should get interesting. I am pretty sure he is a spread guy, had a qb throw for 2300 and run for 1200, so he will score lot of points. I guess. lol Just what I hear, dont know much more than that.

That sounds exactly like Scotty to me? Why pass on him to bring in an outsider???
#73
Well I dont know what your definition of an outsider is. But if a guy played there, his dad played there and he grew up there, he's prolly everything but an outsider. lol. unless you mean not on Mills staff, but that dont mean anything nemore.

lol what is this, guess who?
lLooks like Knox is going to take a while to choose a coach.
#76
The players want Coach Russell. The parents want Coach Russell. The program in general is behind him 100%. If this gets screwed up and he does not end up winning this job it will be a very bad thing for Panther football and our community. Never has a choice been easier.

Let's hope the Knox selection committee gets it right. I believe they will.

I heard the same thing, with a couple more names thrown in the mix. I don't want to post them, because my information is pure rumor and speculation. I don't have the "in" that I had at BC.

Nice to see you back, football1.
#78
Well as I hear it, the coach who applied will be in knox today...So I guess things are going to heat up. Either way I feel Knox will be in good hands..

Thanks. I enjoy this site and the people who post here. When my time or my presence here stops being a part of my walk with Christ - I will refrain from being a part of it.

I have heard very little about this process. But part of that is intentional. I will support whatever they do - but I have made my family's desire clear to all involved that we feel the right move for this team, the Knox county football program in general (HS, MS, and Jr), and for the community is to promote Coach Russell. I will be dumbfounded if that does not occur; but stranger things have happened...
#80
I believe Scotty Russell has some competition for the head coach position...
#81
Why no names.....Who has applied , who are they looking at other than Russell?
#82
You probably don't know the name. He comes from a long line of Knox Countians. His dad was an All-American there. This could get interesting.
Sorry, didn't mean to be redundant.:eyeroll:
#83
I guess we all will have to wait and see. When is the 30 days up?
#84
Good luck to Knox in their coaching decision. Folks down there have always treated me well.

For the life of me, I can't think of who the former KC All-American might be, and I've followed sports in the tri-county area for about 40 years.

My only guess . . . Oliver White?

was pat hauser an all american?

I think they're talking about Glen Gray he graduated in 76 or 77. Don't remember him being all american but he was heck of a running back. I believe his son played at rock, and coached at lex.christian last season

No, Hauser was a 15th-round draft pick of the Dolphins back about 1970, but he was not a high school All-American, nor was he a college All-American at East Tennessee State.
