56th District

Ok we are almost there. So who win's it? And who is the top 5 players. Be nice and lets keep this going.
#2
if powell plays defense and their guards are hot, they win but if they get lazy and dont estill takes it all.
lee-pittman, powell-creech & reed, estill-roberts & dody/berryman( toss up). also lee has a guard that can shoot the lights out but im not sure of his name or number. he could be on that list too.
#3
Estill's Playing Good Ball right now i wouldn't wanna get in there path, Estill's lost some close games here lately and if they hadn't lost them games they would be at 19-3 and the Best Team in the Region but things didn't work out that way but we will take what we can get. i believe Estill will leave Booneville as District Champs

Are you talking about Cornelius, Mays, or Gabbard?

Well Lee County started the season out pretty well playing some very closen games against superior teams that they should have actually won but, as of late they have hit a rut losing three in aa row at a bad time. Hopefully they can turn it around.

Right now, I would say that all the momentum for the 56th District Title is going Estill's way with a toss up between Lee County and Powell County for District Runner Up.

Estill County is probably playing the best ball in the district as the tournament approaches, and that's the right time of year to get it together. I would give the Engineers the edge to take the championship trophy.

im really not sure? hes not a real tall kid but he has sandy colored hair and is a guard. im sorry i couldnt be more specific i just saw him turn it on when powell kept pittman in ck. he seemed like a good player especially fundamentally.

Yeah, I am almost positive that you are talking about Blake Gabbard. I believe he led Lee County with 18 or 19 points in that game and he is only a Sophomore this season!

I picked Lee preseason but I'm going to switch over to Estill and say they'll win the 56th.

well if hes only a sophmore i cant wait to see him play the next two years. hes fun to watch.

Pittman, reed, berryman, roberts, creech..in no order. Estill will win the 56th more than likely..Gabbard can play when he wants. He will need to work on some stuff in the off season. Also Clint Cox from Lee will suprise some people next year I think as well.
#12
Pittman, Creech, Roberts, Reed, and Doty is my top 5. Its hard to rank them because they all play different positions but if I were drafting I would take the point guard first and then the big man. I'd put these 5 guys up against anybody in the other districts in the 14th region.

The District is a toss up, Estill has the edge but that could change tonight. I will say Powell and Estill in the Championship game and Powell pulling it out in a close one. Powell still has 3 starters on the team that took Owsley to double overtime last year in the championship game and I think they feel they have something to prove and the experience of being in that position last year will help.
#13
I will say with it being at Owsley, Lee co will win it with it being close for them and they often play well there. I do think it should be a good one even with Owsley being down this year they usually play pretty good at home.
#14
Well I guess we will see tonight. When the Pirates win I guess you will all have to revise your statements.

Estill beat Powell by 1 point. Powell beat Knott by 9. Give me a break I dont see Estill, Lee, or Owsley being able to play with Knott.

If you read anything into the Owsley game you are crazy. Powell won the game without really trying.

Pirates win 56th.

you didn't bother to mention that Estill missed like 10 free throws at the end of the game that they could have walked away with a double digit win. how do you know anyone else in the district can't compete with KCC? If i remember correctly Estill played them a few years back and only lost by 2

You know Powell also missed 7 free throws in a row at the end I didn't mention that either. So if Powell made theirs there would have been a different outcome. So you really can't compair the free throws.

This isn't the same Estill team from two years ago so you can't compare them.

Before you say This isn't the same Knott team lets look at some of there wins.1.Knott vs. Bryan Station 44-33 Knott wins
2.Knott vs. Hazard 52-48 Knott wins
3.Knott vs. Bullitt East 77-68 Knott wins
4.Knott vs. Betsy Lane 66-62 Knott wins
5.Knott vs. Letcher Co. 50-43 Knott wins
6.Knott vs. Breathitt 72-42 Knott wins

This is just some of their wins. They have a winning record of 12-7
and are 7-2 in the region their only loses are to Letcher Co. and Powell CO.so they have proven themselves.

Estill's record 12-10 with only 2 wins against teams with winning records.(Powell and Lee)

So I am not saying Estill is a bad team they are good. I am comparing them to KCC. Just like Powell losing to Estill by one and Estill losing to KCC two years ago by 2 they are still loses.

Tonights game could really go either way. Each team could beat the other.

Powell missed 7 free throws in the 4th quarter in that game as well. Tonight's game can go either way.

i think i heard Estill missed like idk how many free throws which if they made them they could have left with a 15 point win but Both teams had made there free throws it would have been an 8 point Win.

the game with KCC was more than 2 years ago. 59-57 was the score in a tournament in Berea.

i do say that i believe it will be Estill and Powell in the District Championship with the Best Team winning it. i'm hoping and praying that Estill is that team just like you are doing the same but your hoping and praying that its Powell which everyone has there own opininon

Well I suggested they both practice their free throws. You know all games have many points that could make you win or lose missed free throws, missed shots, fouls, etc. so I really dont think it came down to only free throws.

Good luck to you and good luck to the Pirates.

Agreed!

Good Luck To Both Teams and lets have a good clean hard faught game and may the better team win

Knott needs to worry about winning their own district IMO
#22
I will say any one of the 3 teams estill, lee, powell can win it my brain says estill but something tells me lee will pull it out.

Estill has the Number 1 Seed

i would like to revise my picks. After watching powell loose tonite to estill i dont think creech or reed need to be listed as the top 5 in the district. To be a top player you need to be consistent in a good way not a negative way. I hate to say it but im picking estill to win it all and if powell doesnt get it together they will finish last.
