Lamar Dawson to USC
#1
Dawson has chosen to attend USC over Kentucky, Tennessee, Oregon, and UCF.

Congrats Lamar!
#2
I wish him all the best, but I also wish he had chosen UK.
#3
Congrats to Dawson go make the state proud
#4
This has got to hurt Joker and UK badly.... They lose Dawson and the 4 star RB kid. Trouble in Lex.....
#5
At least it wasn't UT. Can't blame the kid though. Good luck to him.
#6
Congrats to Lamar..

This says a lot about Joker, coaching staff, and the Future of UK football.. IT sad to say to cant get the big boys in ur own state, so he evidently saw that the program was going Downhill and thats why he made his choice.. Im hoping with all this done Mitch will look at his coach and realize we need a proven winner.. I have spoken with a couple UK players and they said "most all the players here have no respect for him."

n e ways congrats to Lamar and i hope he does well..

He would fit in good at USC.
I was hoping he would pick the VOLS.

Who was the RB

Congrats to Lamar!

He must have seen something out of Lane Kiffin. I cannot stomach Kiffin and cannot root for USC but I hope he does well in California.

Wonder what the deciding factor was? I doubt immediate playing time is one of them, however, I do not know for sure. When will USC be able to go bowling again?

Regardless of UK's recruiting class this season, losing one in the backdoor hurts the staff a lot. A WHOLE LOT. True UK doesn't have much to offer compared to USC but; proximity to home, early playing time and bowl games are 3 things off the top of my head that USC could not promise next year I'm sure.
#10
This is very surprising because USC is on probation and Lamar will really have to battle for a starting role at USC.

All-in-all, scouts will always be at his practices and games and hopefully one day Lamar gets into the NFL.

great job Chuck Smith, you can not even get a kid from your own school that you used to be at. I mean if you are going to recruit, then why not be able to get your own kids. A total failure on UK coaching, I hate USC and hope they lose every game, sorry Lamar but I bet you are back home because there are some pretty good players out in Calif. I bet you come back begging to be a wildcat. Thanks for the loyalty. Hopefully real UK fans will show you the loyalty you deserve and root for more sanctions on your team.
#13
Congrats to Lamar. I am not a Lane Kiffin fan at all but I like his Dad (Defensive Co-ordinator). They made a big push with personal visits to Boyle County and they worked much harder than UK did at securing Lamar.

Hope it turns out well for him in LA-LA Land and I will have to root some for USC now.

Hate to tell you but from what I heard the problem was not as much Chuck as other staff that "took him for granted" and did not bring their "A" game. :eyeroll:

BTW, I'll bet that your attitude is a prime reason for leaving for USC. Who wants a bitter message board idiot's advice in the most important choice to date for this young man.

Way to shoot for the stars Lamar

yeah lets just root for all of our good HS players to go elsewhere, maybe I am passionate and care, unlike some.

Yeah, lets just bad mouth a kid right after he made an important decision in his life just because he didnt make the choice you wanted him too. Absolute classless post. Your passion and care borderlines ignorance and pouting.
#18
It's one thing to be passionate and another to be an idiot and classless. Lamar owes nothing to you. He chose the best place for him not you. People like you are probably the reason he chose to go so far away. That and an opportunity to play right away(one of his major reasons behind his choice) and the chance to play and learn from Monte Kiffin. Everyone keeps harping on Lane Kiffin but he will spend more time with Monte Kiffin and the LB Coach than with Lane and obviously when Monte came down with Lane last week they were very convincing.

Get over yourself and let it go. It will take a whole lot more than a 4 star linebacker from Boyle County to save the mediocrity of UK football.

I wouldn't blame Chuck Smith either. I wouldn't care if Chuck was his legal guardian anyone expecting UK to lure big time recruits away from the USC's, Oregon's and UT's is delusional. Can it happen? Sure. Once or twice. To expect it to happen is living in a fantasy world and Lamar going across the country cements that fact, IMO.

I have never posted anything about him so me bad mothing him has nothing to do with his decision, must be the Boyle people who forced him to USC, good job Boyle send some to TN and Louisville now. I am sure your county is happy, but no real UK fan is. i am sure all UK fans hate Boyle Co now. Tell me what is wrong for being mad at losing a good recruit. I am sure he would get a god education at UK and learn from Chuck Smith, who is a great recruiter, hahaha, If you are good, you will play in the NFL, no matter what team you are on. Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, Bret Ffavre ring a bell, not big time schools.
#21
This hurts the program a lot, but if they also lose Davis out of Louisville, Joker maybe in trouble in the future..

i agree 100%.. even though Boyle beat us you've got to give credit where it is due... me personally cant blame him, I mean its UK football were talking about here.. now if this was basketball and he chose to go to USC yea i wouldve been hurt and mad, but still yet i would never bash on a player for all their hard work..

Hahaha, get a clue! Your posts on this thread show your ignorance of college football and sports in general.

Lamar has his reasons for choosing USC, and honestly its none of our business why he chose what he did. I wish he had chosen Kentucky, but I understand why he would choose USC over UK. Good luck these next for years, Lamar, I'll be watching!

Monte Kiffin is one of the best Defensive coaches in the world hard to turn that down

Lane Kiffin or Joker Phillips
Monte Kiffin or Rick Minter
Joe Barry or Chuck Smith
Warm Weather vs. Cold Weather

I am sure Boyle County fans made sure he picked USC. I am a UK season ticket holder but also a realist. If that was my child with that kind of talent he wouldn't be playing at UK either.
Next 4 or 5 years most games he will ever win at UK 6 or 7 games. At USC more than likely have a couple of 10 win seasons plus a chance to play for one of the best defensive coordinators in the game.

WOW! :lame: I for one am tickled to death he choose USC. Growing up this was his dream college, and all he has done is follow his dream. Can't blame him for that.

i do not blame him for following his dream, but hsi dream will be a nightmare when he gets recruited over by Kiffen for better than him.
