I don't know what game you watched, but the Tigers couldn't stop ER's 55 in the first half. If 55 hadn't got into foul trouble I believe the game would have went a different way. ER's 55 was afraid to foul in the fourth quarter. The Tigers scored 6 straight points because 55 was afraid of fouling and the Tigers knew that. Coach Justice should have put 42 on 55's man - 42 had a foul to give. I feel that was a coaching mistake. I will give Paintsville credit they do have a couple of boys that can jump -- 15 being one of them. He is no doubt the best player on the team.

Heard this last Saturday against Pikeville. So I guess ER is a moral (2-0) on the past two Saturdays. Congrats.

Congrats Tigers.

No excuses, ER has to get back out there again and prove themselves worthy of being called a contender.

Well, what they did do with 55 was get him in foul trouble. 55 is a great offensive player, can't take that from him. But, part of the game is finding a weakness and forcing that issue. That is exactly what the Tigers did tonight, they got 55 in foul trouble and neutralized his offensive threat in that fashion. That my friends is basketball. So, that being said, they did do something with him. Just sayin'. Nice team effort Tigers, excellent coaching effort as well. NICE!

Crow? I'm not eating any crow. If you've missed my other comments on Paintsville, I've said they're the most unpredictable jump-up-on-you team in the region. I'm just mad that ER gave up a HUGE lead.

Paintsville is decent, but they're not on par with these elite teams in the region, I don't care who they beat or when or where. They're a sneaky team, they win when they should get stomped and lose when they should win. They're weird.

Congrats, I'll take this with a grain of salt. I was scared of this very thing happening since I heard the game was happening today.

From the person I'm talking to, ER gave up in the second half and Paintsville took control because of it. Get off your high horse, Paintsville is still no where near the teams JC, BL, ER, and Pikeville are. It's just facts, and it will show come district and region time. Which is very soon and I'm excited. Are you all?

We are excited!! Go TIGERS!!!:Cheerlead

Ouch, tough 4th quarter ER. Congrats Paintsville, nice win and comeback.
#15
Totally didnt expect this outcome, congrats Tigers!
#16
Congrats to the Tigers on the big road win. As for the sub par comment, I'll say that Paintsville may not have the man for man talent as teams such as BL, JC, or Pikeville, but when they are clicking and playing hard nosed defense, they are one of the better TEAMS in the region.
#17
When is Cameron Justice expected back? They have missed him badly as of late since his injury.

High horse? lol

2 of those four "Elite" teams you just named, the Tigers have beaten. Except for one quarter....they also beat BL.

I was just letting you know that you were wrong. Like you said...come the 22nd we would find out...well .500. With wins against Pburg and LC. Now do you see what I meant by a Top 10 wasn't warranted. And it don't get any easier. I don't have a thing against ER. In a couple of years they WILL be a tough win in the 15th and will EASILY warrant a Top 10.

And you talk about Tourney Time. Try coming out of the ONLY 5 Team District (57th) in the Region, where 4 of the 5 could beat the other on ANY given night! They aren't any gimme Region births down here.

Who's the 5 teams anyway?

The 57th District
Johnson Central
Paintsville
Sheldon Clark
Magoffin Co.
Lawrence Co.

If you are the 4 or 5 seed. You would have to win 3 games just to win a District Title. EVERYONE in the Tourney has to win at least one game just to get to Regions. No matter what seed you are. Unlike the 3 teamd Districts. Get the 1 seed and you're in.

Lawrence and Magoffin seem to be down this year

Yes, Magoffin is down. But, that don't mean anything come Tourney time. MC is scrappy and is always a tough win, come Tourney Time.

I agree that is playing basketball. ER dominated the first half and Painstville the second. both teams have some improving to do. I can't see either team winning the region. A great team plays consist ball the entire game.

I know that. Just making a point. No "IFs" or excuses. It was the truth though. So don't be that way or take it out of text. :thanks:

I think a team from the 57th will win region this year. If Paintsville puts together a four or five game streak of playin good they could win the region, and Johnson Central is the most talented team in the region. I think both would win their rematch with betsy layne.

I think both will win their rematch with Betsy Laye also, can't wait for tournament time!
