Pikeville 68 Shelby Valley 64 OT
#1
Final from Pikeville.
#2
Pikeville played horrible. Mostly because Shelby Valley played good defense. But I have never seen a team fight and claw and play with as much heart as the Panthers did tonight.

I'll post more later when I have time to think it out, but I will say one more thing. Taylor Ratliff deserves a game ball, net, piece of the floor, whatever he wants. I have never seen an individual exert so much effort in a basketball game. The guy left his heart at the middle of John Bill Trivette Court. He is in no way, shape, or form a polished basketball player. But he gave everything he had tonight and he was the biggest key to this win.

Regroup and get after it tomorrow. HAIL PIKEVILLE!

Good Atmosphere.

Anyone have any stats?

Congrats Panthers!

Keep working hard Wildcats. You're going to surprise some people before it's all said and done.

This surprises me, I figured Pikeville would handle Valley especially at home.

But Congrats Panthers! And also Congrats to Valley for a good fight!

I totally agree...Taylor played his butt off tonight....He pulled down some big rebounds and got a lot of loose balls that gave the Panthers the extra possessions they needed....

Sounds like some home-cookin concerning 33 FT vs 9 FT. I look for Valley to come away with a W in a rematch.

I did not attend tonight but I listened to it. It sounds like it was an exciting game down to the wire and both student sections were crazy. But coincedence had the same theme? I thought this was Eastern KY people? If you sneeze everyone knows.

He said Pikeville stormed the court too! Their team and fans have impressed me alot this year.
The Blue Crew still stands behind Valley even thought their not a butt hair from what they were last year, so thats good school spirit.

Congrats PHS, proud to be Alumni!

Closer than excepted but Congrats Panthers on getting the W.

Congrats to my Panthers. A win is a win. May have not been perfect, but we'll take it for sure.

Shelby valley is getting better every night.
#14
33 to 9,, the refs let pikeville back n this game
#15
Most ate fouling Pike because over the past couple of years they have done very poorly at the line. I believe thus will continue to be the strategy of many teams. Valley played Betsy Layne a fair game and seem to be improving with each game.

Shewww,, cant win them all by big margins I guess. Valley gave us a little trouble with their D but the next time I think the adjustments will set us a little farther apart. Go Panthers

Great game. Give Greg Newsome another month and Shelby Valley will be in the hunt. It is hard to beat a team that shoots 24 more free throws than you do.
#19
Wow. I can't wait until district. It's going to be one of the top 10 ever I think, lol. Even going back to the old setup.

It could have been the Shelby Valley Coach's strategy to put the Panthers on the foul line instead of hitting foul goals and three pointers. Just wondering????????????????????

No the refs put Pikeville at the line not the coach , Pikeville needs to give ref Tommy Hutton a gaint kiss in the mouth , because he sure laid it to Valley.
#22
Congrats to both teams for a great game.

Pikeville kept driving and getting in the lane at the end of the game. And Shelby Valley kept fouling. When the guards can get to the rim the big guys often have to foul. Sounds like sour grapes :dontthink

But I am impressed on the improvement with Shelby Valley. Playing the younger players has made this team much much better.
