As I have thought most of the season, Manual is the best team in the state.

No. 1 Manual fends off No. 2 Mercy 63-52
Manual coach Stacy Pendleton gave each of his players a DVD of the Crimsons' loss to Mercy -- a three-point defeat in the title game of the Republic Bank Classic in Lexington in December -- to study during this week's snow day.
After much dissection, the Crimsons formed a plan. The result was a 63-52 victory over the visiting Jaguars on Thursday night.
The game was a key midseason matchup between Region 7, District 25 teams ranked at the top of The Courier-Journal's Litkenhous ratings.
Manual (12-3), No. 1, has won four in a row and is 6-1 in the region. Mercy (13-3), No. 2, had its three-game win streak halted and drops to 5-2.
Every time Manual appeared on the verge of putting the game out of reach, Mercy would rally. But crucial baskets -- mainly three-pointers -- kept the Crimsons in control. Manual made nine three-pointers.
"We wanted to get payback," said Manual guard LeAsia Wright, who had 12 points.
Pendleton said he thought the main difference was the team's attitude.
"I think we shot the ball a little better, but we also had a better attitude all around," he said. "We showed tremendous resolve in the game to find a way to win, because there were a lot of things going against us."
The Crimsons unleashed from long range early. Nicole Lauterbach and Wright both nailed three-pointers in the first two minutes, and Manual stormed to a 7-2 lead. The Crimsons rolled to a 13-2 advantage before Mercy rallied.
Guard Christine Roush was fouled on a layup and converted the three-point play to make it 13-4. Manual continued to dominate and led 17-9, but the Jaguars went on an 11-2 run to close out the first period thanks in part to free throws from guard Lauren Faris and baskets by Roush and forward Emily Goetz.
Mercy led 20-19 at the end of the first period. But that would be the only time they would hold the advantage.
With the Crimsons leading 29-24, Goetz sank a three-pointer.
Manual answered with two straight three-pointers -- from the same spot on the floor -- from guard Morgan Allen.
Manual led by as many as 12 in the second half. The Jaguars stayed in the game thanks to free throw shooting -- nine of their 11 points in the third quarter came from the line.
Mercy cut the deficit to 56-49 with 2:21 left. That's when Destony Curry sank a three-pointer to make it 59-49.
"We talked a lot about our three-point shooting and taking better shots," Pendleton said. "I'm not sure we took better shots tonight, but they went in."
Goetz missed a three, but Mercy rebounded and Faris nailed a three-pointer to make it 59-52 with 1:22 left.
Curry missed a three, but Manual snatched the offensive rebound. Guard April Wilson sealed the Crimson victory by completing a three-point play after being fouled while making a layup.
"Usually, when we play each other, the most aggressive team wins," Mercy coach Mark Evans said. "I thought they were the most aggressive team tonight. Anytime we made a push ... they knocked down the big threes. That kept them in a good situation and it kept us at bay."
Junior guard Kara Wright led Manual with 13 points. Curry and forward Mechael Guess each had eight.
Senior guard Julianne Miller topped the Jaguars with 16 points, and senior guard Lauren Faris added 12.
"We went over a lot of their plays and we worked on our defense and getting through screens," Kara Wright said. "It was mostly about defense and rebounding. It's a big win, a good momentum builder."

Manual seems to have all positions on floor covered. Bigs, shooters etc.

Congrats to Mercy
