What does the panthers bring back next year? I know Chase Hall and the talented Jr. classs will be seniors.
Now that I opened it, I was wondering if some hardcore Pikeville Alum could help me understand something.
I was wondering where was Randy Maynard, Chase Hall, Ross McCoy and Madison Coleman among others on the all state list. Then I went and looked at the KHSAA website and noticed their stats wasnt all in. Do you think this hurts their chances? Im sure it would help. I know these awards are biased BUT it looks good to put out for kids aspiring to go to the next level.

I agree...you coaching job doesn't stop at the last game...someone needs to make sure the stats get posted

Pikeville only had one player make the "All Mountain Team" ??????????????????????

Agree. It has to hurt their chances when all the stats are not reported. But the question is WHY they are not turned in ??.

Stats on the KHSAA website are not going to determine if someone is All State.
Playing big in big games makes someone All State.

Maybe you should volunteer to do the stats for the team next year!:thumpsup:

I disagree with you nothing but the kids. KHSAA does a stat list for what coaches put in. Will coaches look at for example Chase Hall or Randy Maynard who the coach says is great or the kid that is in the same district but have more rushing yards on the website that maybe listed in the top 5 but dont see chase or randy. Colleges dont look who put stats in, if I was a coach and sent info in, I would say in the top 5 or so on any list to get them in.

Good point tebow. These kids performed to well to not have the info. sent in on time or not at all . Imo, no excuse for this.

No thanks, plenty of people who draw big paychecks from the Pikeville Ind. Schools need to handle it.
But since you are big into volunteering, how about you mowing my lawn this summer?

I thought the question was how good is Pikeville going to be next year? Seems from the conversation so far their biggest problem will be getting stats reported.

^Pikeville will continue to get better.

Question for you hard nosed panther fans. Who will be QB, will they move maynard over and put him in mccoys place and start burke?

Coach McNamee is the right coach for Pikeville. They will get better each year.

I agree NBK, but I am sure these pikeville players are not going to sit back and watch other kids get scholarships or get noticed by colleges.

Sounds possible. That would be a "one two" Punch with Randy Maynard & Chase Hall in the backfield. Burke looked pretty good when taking a few snaps this season.

I think Randy will stay at QB. I doubt Coach Mac putting him at QB for one year and then switching him back. I think you will see a more run oriented offense next year. Taylor Ratliffs departure leaves a big hole to fill at WR. Tolliver Hefner has a good pair of hands but isnt the all around package that Taylor was. The backfield will be full of talent next year. Chase Hall and Caleb Campoy both have the chance to be special players. Nick Jones is an absolute burner. We also have some talented freshmen coming up as well. We also have some talented kids on the line who all have a year of experience under their belts.

I am interested to see if Cody Estep can have an impact in his Freshman season. He played well for the Jr. High. Not as mature as Chase was though. Hopefully Gavin will come out and fill a slot and CB spot. Burgy can play safety if he wants, and could be scary if he works hard. Randy will be Randy, solid, not a great passer, but good enough. Defense will be the key. Pikeville can put up points, but will have to stop opposing teams more to have a good season.

Caleb Campoy had a solid yr. on defense too. The kid played tough all season long. Don't know how i could overlook Nick Jones at the running back position. This is another young man thats going to be fun to watch.

i heard pikeville was getting a transfer at the end of the year that will set there backfield were it should be. if it happens i will say state championship and maynard can stay at QB. this back runs a 4.3 easy and got vision like a hawk.best news is he will just be a soph next year.
01-04-2011, 09:27 AM
a 4.3, I doubt it. do you have any clue to how fast that is. There are pro WR and DB who dont run a 4.6. 40 times are way overstated by peopelwho have no clue or time them with wrist watch or by mouth.

Sounds like you have gripes with the coach. Not seeing a whole lot of kids from eastern Kentucky getting full paid scholarships for football regardless of the high school.
My guess is the kids care more about winning and having fun while parents care more about the scholarships. Not saying that is wrong but just stating my opinion.

Like to say congratulation to Pikeville Jr. Kicker Zach Burgy-VanHoose, Last year as a sophomore he got All State H.M., this year 2nd Team All State; if he continues to work hard and says healthy the next spot is # 1.
Congratulation to the PHS Coaches and players for helping this young man. The coaches give him the opportunity and the players help him make it happen. GO PHS and GO ZACH !!!

Pikeville will continue to improve with Coach Mac at the helm, imo. My only concern is the loss we took on the line.

Is Weston Little coming to Pikeville from South Floyd?
