Southwest airlines jet trying to land in a driving snow storm (THAT MISSED US) has skid off the runway into a Chicago street. Everyone on board has been taken from the plane safely. One subject on the street was struck and two vehicles were also struck by the plane. One of the victims in the cars was trapped under the plane. Crews remain on scene trying to get the victims transported to Chicago area medical centers.

I have flown into Midway several times...the landings there are always so hard because the runways are not very long. I love flying in there though because they have a Harry Carey's Steakhouse in it.

CNN now reporting a 8 year old boy that was in one of the cars has died.

I was watching this on the news earlier.... That's horrible somebody has died... I will keep everybody involved in my thoughts and prayers

Fox News is now saying it was a 6 y.o. child. Just terrible.

Same day December 8th, 1972 at the same Midway airport a similar accident occurred. A plan went through a barrier struck a house killing two in the house and I think they said 45 on the plan with only 12 making it off the plane.

Pretty sure that when I saw it this morning that 2 or 3 people had been declared dead. Sad story. I saw it at 6 this morning and wasn't paying too much attention but there are fatalities...They will be in my thoughts.
