Pike Central loses Assistant Coach

And before any one of you all starts. I know what I am talking about.

PM me, and enlighten me of what you are talking about?

Ok, to clear a few things up on here. Chapman is still and will be the coach at Pike Central next season. He has lost more than just Hollan and son or so thats what I have been told. Alot of this had to not only do with a change of position but some other things as well.

As far as the investigation, it was closed before the Russell game and both players were found eligable and that is coming from two credible inside sources. In addition both Boggs and Shouse are supposed to be playing Basketball. Got some interesting news that has not been confirmed but one may be having surgrey due to an injury that was found after the Russell game.

not like Pikeville hasn't done the same thing in years past...Everyone goes out talks to kids and talks them into switching schools its just a part of good ole EKY sports.

IMHO, If I had just gotten out of one sticky situtation, I don't think I would be inserting myself into possibly another! If they were ruled eligible, why in the world has it not been published in the paper like all the investigation info was? Seems to be some "hush hush" stuff goin on around the county! NOT just Pike Central.... I said county.... AND.... for the record, who in their right mind would come to Belfry and try to recruit a player(s)? Sounds a lil fishy.... ???? teehee

senior year. Pike Central has been put on probation for 3 years. The
school and boards office was also fined.

ENOUGH!!!!! This thread is about the assistant coach leaving PC NOT about the eligibility for a player. Keep it on topic or yet again another one will be closed!

Heard that John Paul is looking for a new place to go. Didn't say why, only thing
I could come up with is he wants to get out of that district because it only gets tougher next year. They said he is wanting to come back closer to Breathitt, but not Breathitt.

You all know what else I heard....heard Holcomb is thinking about leaving Breathitt, Dudley is thinking about leaving Breathitt...**** if we all took hear say for truth then we will have Holcomb coaching college ball, Chapman running off to Iran, Dudley heading to Letcher and the only non-suprise Haywood coaches in another state championship game...Can we just give it a rest until after this weekend so we can all just focus on cheering belfry past Central and then revisit this...

This post made my day.

So, can't PC get in trouble since Boggs plays basketball?

I would wholeheartedly agree with the above; however, the Principal and the Superintendent should also bear some responsibility. They should know what is going on.

I think you are asking a bit much for the S and the P to know every thing going on, but even if you are right, the KHSAA has zero ability to discipline a S or P. They do have the ability to not allow a person to coach a KHSAA sanctioned game, although as was pointed out by another poster, the KHSAA has been very reluctant to hand out any thing more severe than a couple game suspension of coaches.

Rather the KHSAA relies on the school district to hand out more severe punishment if the school district thinks it's warranted (i.e. firing the coach). I think that's a huge mistake by the KHSAA. If they find a coach blatantly cheating, he/she should be forever banned from coaching in Ky again. Period. No exceptions. No second chances.

Heck, the KHSAA caught a basketball coach cheating several years back. His school district did the right thing and fired him. No worries for the coach, another school district, with the knowledge the coach had been caught cheating, soon thereafter hired him. I get the whole second chance thinking, but when the offender is a role model of kids, placed in a position of trust and leadership over our youth and charged with the mission of teaching the values that are gained by participating in sports, there are no second chances in my book for cheating. Others may disagree with that stance, which I'm fine with, but until the KHSAA makes the costs of cheating greatly outweigh the benefits of cheating, some coaches will cheat.

And I have almost zero knowledge of the situation going on in Pike County, so I am not commenting or passing judgment on any thing or any one involved in that situation. I am only expressing my general feelings on coaches caught cheating.

There has been no findings made against Pike Central for recruiting by the KHSAA. The findings were for failure to report changes of residency. All this other crap has just been heresay and accusations made by jealous parents and concerned opponents. There has been no fines imposed upon Pike Central and no findings against any of the coaches period. And as far as I know, it's not against the law for someone to attend a high school football game...I am pretty sure that the Pikeville people have nothing to worry about.....I don't think that there are any athletes at Pikeville that could start for Pike Central right now.

FACT: There has not been any charges or questions made by or from the KHSAA to the coaches or the school system regarding recruiting. No mention what-so-ever.

I do find it somewhat interesting that a jealous parent and their so-called friends can write down an opinion of what they think people should believe and it automatically becomes this big hot story. Must be facts. First off, Coach Chapman does not own and has never owned a PT Cruiser.....But yet, there are signed and sworn affidavits stating that he was seen giving a child a ride in one of those on several occasions. No one asked why.....could it have possibly been that the child was spending some time with his sister due to family illness or does it matter? Shame on you Coach Chapman for giving him a ride! You should be punished. It's a joke.

I am also disappointed in the moderators on this site for allowing this thread to continue. It is nothing but an attempt to slander. I guess it's just according to who is getting slandered.
