Just heard from someone that John Paul will be forced to resign at Pike Central and will not allowed to hold a head coaching job for five years in the state of KY. I heard this is all steming from the investigation they did on PCC and their transfers. I do not know if this is true, just trying to find out.

To my knowledge the KHSAA doesn't impose sanctions against coaches.
I personally think when blatant disregard for the rules is uncovered, they should punish the coaches involved instead of the teams/players.
In this case however, I don't believe the rumor about the sanctions. I have no idea about Chapman resigning, but that part would be a surprise to me too. I don't think anything like that will happen, and especially not before the final results of the investigation is made known.

I really hope not, Chapman is a good coach and I hope to see him back on the sideline next season, even if it is not with PCC.

Really, is anyone surprised?

Nope. I'm not.

One of the assistant coaches has already accepted a head coaching job at another school, and this would be why the job is open. I know this for a fact myself I'm close to the Pike Central program.

HawksRule is the voice of reason. Thanks for the facts, we need to be careful not to jump to all sorts of conclusions until we know them.

You are welcome. I've known of this for a while, but I have held out on posting it for a situations like this.

According to the KHSAA - Yes, he's still the coach at Pike Central.

Agreed.
I would wholeheartedly agree with the above; however, the Principal and the Superintendent should also bear some responsibility. They should know what is going on.

From what Ive heard he is not there any more, apparently both him and his son are currently not involved in anything related to Pike Central.

hum, wonder if its because what he was to have said about the injured player from Belfry?

I don't know where this information is coming from. As far as I know....a coach doesn't make a ruling on who is eligible and who is not eligible and neither does the school or the administrators of the school. Coach Chapman will be back at Pike Central next year......so sorry to disappoint some of you. Coach Smith will be back next year also. We will miss his son as he is graduating this year. BUT, we may have some additions to the program for next year (haha!) Look out! More reason to worry and gossip!
11-30-2010, 10:52 AM
Does anyone know how they ruled on the Boggs/Shouse situation then?

Unless you are on the KHSAA board, I would think that you truley are clueless about the findings. I would think that there will be a lot more to come from this. Also the KHSAA can and will suspend coaches. They have the power to suspend for ever how long they find , whether it be games or years.
11-30-2010, 11:19 AM
The fact is that I have read the findings. The ruling was that the school did not report the change of addresses for the two students involved after the flooding occurred. There was no mention of any findings against any of the assistant coaches or the head coach. Both of these students are still attending Pike Central and matter of fact they are both playing basketball for the Hawks tonight at Buckhorn. I may not be a so called "KHSAA member" but I can read and I do know what I am talking about. Get over yourself....
11-30-2010, 12:32 PM
Didn't mean to upset you. I guess time will tell. Two residents and all the other things in the paper.......????? A simple change of residents was left out????
11-30-2010, 01:49 PM
He has obviously learned from his mistakes. It's not like he was out recruiting at the CAM Friday night at the Belfry/Somerset game. No chance that happened. No chance. Oh, wait.....
And before any one of you all starts. I know what I am talking about.
