Shelby Valley 06'
#1
How will Shelby Valley do next year?
#2
what all starters they got returning this year
#3
Shelby Valley will get the 4 seed once again in the district! They have to pull a big upset on one of the top three to make the district notice them! With the coach change coming, I see a difficult season once again in 2006!
#4
they will do ok IMO
#5
They should do alright.
#6
Still nowhere near the top teams in the region....

As a former football player I see the change of coaches as a positive for the players. I went through 3 coaches in 4 years and we always improved from year to year. But the coaches got better each year also so that may have made a difference. Look for a local Floyd County boy to show interest.:please:

Shelby Valley, Pike Central, and East Ridge have got to start getting some continuity in their respective football programs if they are to ever catch Belfry, Prestonsburg, and now Sheldon Clark. Pike Central seems to have stabilized with Coach McNamee as does East Ridge with Coach Ratliff. Shelby Valley has no excuses to be losing football games with the amount of talent at their school, all they need is stability/consistency at the top.

Shelby Valley will be returning many starters from last year's team. Offensive Starters: Quarterback Tyler Johnson, Fullback John Johnson, Recievers Colby Newsome and Jacob Bryant and Linemen Tyler Cable and Eric Althauser Jr.

On Defense they return Defensive Linemen Tyler Cable and Shad Newsome, Linebackers John Johnson and Chris Tackett, Cornerbacks Colby Newsome and Brock Kinney and Safetys Jacob Bryant and Tyler Johnson.

Yes there are some good athletes that are returning some of them I doubt but we will see.

They should be fine one thing that impressed me the most this year was how Johnson was able to run the ball this year, I say they will make it in the playoffs and could be one of the top 4 teams in the region next year.

Donnie Daniels is the best choice in my opinion. He is big time offensive coach and a good ole Floyd County corn fed boy:Nodding:

I cannot see them in the top 4 in the region! I do see them as a 4 seed in their district! Could you name your top four in the region?

Well I'm just wondering who did these guys coach at?

Donnie Daniels (Careless about him!):boosign: :boosign: :boosign: :boosign: :boosign: - if that is the same coach that coached at SF he is awful and don't need to be over there to be there coach.
Jay Cobb

I heard also the boys on that team was wanting Anthany Hampton to come back and coach. Is that true?

But I'm just wondering are they trying to get a better coach then what is already in there.

I guess that you would know since you have about 20 years of experience under your belt.
Looks to me like someone is a little jealous of Donnie Daniels:Nodding:. I think that Coach Daniels is a very good coach and puts a lot of time and effort into what he does. Coach Daniels loves the game and knows what he is talkin about when he is coaching.
So South Floyd didn't have such a good year in 05 but they had a hell of one in 04, under what coach.....yes I believe that it was Coach Donnie Daniels and his staff.
So the next time you say something about Coach Daniels you might want to think things through and get facts.
#22
I think Donnie Daniels is a very good coach and with support could turn Shelby Valley into a tearly contender. You either have it or you don't. Shelby Valley don't............but maybe they will soon. If you guys do not want him Allen Central will take him:AngelPray

When is the dead line for the job?
#24
If the Donnie Daniel guy does come up there most of the players will not play for him because I've heard alot of talk around the school! And to bad this is not a coach or a player!!!!!!!!! But you know look who SF played in 2004 i guess kentcuky school of def and dumb could beat Jenkins, Betsy Lane, and who ever else they played.

DONNIE DANIELS :Sad04: :boosign: :boosign: :boosign: :boosign: :boosign: :boosign: :boosign:

Heard from natives via-smoke screen that the players wanted to play football for someone outsied the area to start fresh with no bickering.
#26
I think that there good enough to grab the 4th seed in the region behind belfry, SC, Pburg.
#27
shelby valley will be great next year
#28
I talked to Doe DOe Rowe today and he said that he was going to apply for the job. This might be a good move! Painstville went that route and it worked for them in Bill Mike. He said that he has a good chance to get it. He was going to have Rodney Rowe for special teams, Bobby Spears as his offensive coach, Carol Johnson for his defensive coach, Bobby Osborne as his scout team coach, and Greg Napier as his equipment coach. Is their any truth to this!!

Alright SNOOP thats enough joking around I heard that to at school its just a joke, if u want to talk about the football team and anything dealing with them then be serious no joking around matter, everybody thinks we are a joke anyways some of the boys would just like a coach that will stay and help them with the great talent , I have played in the Shelby Valley area and we have played from middle school to now under so many coaches it is horrible, the names David Osborne, Danny Osborne, Greg Newsome, Greg Napier, Ben Howard, and Anthony Hampton, its kinda hard getting all those differnt defenses and offenses to perfection with change each year they should might as well let the players choose seems like somebody doesn't know what they are doing at Valley and in the area. Also we had to learn the HH offense and everythiong he wanted. It is discusting of all the politics that is in Shelby Valley please someone do something good for the players and you will see the talent to arise next year no doubt on that.

I have to agree with the last part of your post! They are in big need of someone to step up and be serious about the program with long term goals. Stop the politics and play some football! It is a shame that this program by now is not competing for the regional title every year! The families of the players must step up and demand more from the administration! Let the people who know football run the football program!
