JJ Jude or Corey Davenport
#1
Jude of Davenport?
#2
Jude....
#3
Dumb post. Matter of opinion. Both are equally as good and play hard for good programs. Two entirely different work loads.
#4
The grammar used in the title and opening post amuse me. ^_^

Who does Jude play for? I know that Davenport is hecka good.

J. J. Jude is a junior and plays for Johnson Central. He has rushed for around 2250 yards through 10 games.
#6
Davenport... has the better Lineman to do the job

That is absolutely hilarious. You are SOOO funny. I stand corrected. J. J. Jude did not score on Bell County so that is proof positive that he is not the best running back in the mountains. It all makes sense to me now. :eyeroll:

Jude and Davenport are much different types of runners. Davenport is probably a little faster and more elusive but Jude is stronger, breaks more tackles, and gets more yardage after initial contact, IMO. Obviously, I have seen Jude play much more than I have seen Davenport, but that has been my impression. Both are great running backs.
#11
I really like Judes game.
#12
Jude is the best I've seen this season
#13
Davenport runs a 4.4 and the majority of his TD's are from long plays. Jude runs about a 4.5 or 4.6 40 and have great lateral movement and is very strong, seen several runs on Sports OT in which he broke 4 or 5 tackles and rarely gets brought down on the first hit. Both are good runners, but I'd take Jude on this one.
#14
Davenport could had rushed for 800 yards against McCreary Central if Dudley wanted him to. Dudley doesnt worry about stats as much as wins.

I still take Davenport with his 4.43 speed hands down and isnt even close.

How many carries?
#16
Jude
#17
Cory Davenport has 1,311 rushing yards on 103 carries and 23 TD's in 8 games. He sat out 2 games. 74 yards receiving with 2 TD's.

Avg 12.7 yards per carry against teams like Green Co, Knox Central, Johnson Central, and Harlan Co. All being ranked in State.

I don't know. I would have to do some digging, so I think I will wait until JC turns in its stats. Hopefully, that will be after the Golden Eagles win the 5A title. Last season, Davenport averaged about a yard more a carry. However, you have to realize that JC runs Jude a lot up the middle in short yardage situations.

Yards per carry is not everything when you are comparing running backs. Who would you rather give the ball to in an obvious 4th down running situation where you only needed a couple of yards? (Assuming both had the same lineman and backs blocking for them.)

Davenport's speed is an advantage in the open field but Jude's strength makes him a more versatile runner.

Bell County's schedule has not been as strong as Johnson Central, in part because Bell County has not played anybody as good as Bell County or Boyle County yet.

Massey ranks Bell County's schedule 43rd in the state and Johnson Central's 24th.

I would still take my RB Davenport. He also doesnt go down in the 1st hit, he drug 3 defenders over the goal line against Harlan Co Friday night. Speedy backs are harder to get a hold of trying to bring down also. Like I have stated I love Jude as a RB, he is my 2nd Fav overall. I like to be biased. :Cheerlead

Green Co beat Lone Oak another good team in 4A, JC, HC, KC...

I would take Jude first and Davenport second but it would be great to have them in the same backfield.

The wins don't really matter if you are just trying to make the case that yardage was gained against better competition. It's pretty hard to argue that Bell has played a tougher schedule than Johnson Central, which has also beaten KC and has played two undefeated, highly ranked teams in Bell and Boyle. Jude's yards have not all come as easily as they did against Woodford.

That combo could make any coach look pretty good.

being a bell fan i am biased, but trying to be as unbiased as possible i will give a slight edge to davenport.

that being said the entire offense for JC goes through jude, everyone knows it and tries to stop him and he still gets his yards. take him away from JC and i am not sure how well JC does.

And the winner is.... ohhh its a tie. Both are great backs & a big key to there teams success
#28
Both great runners and have their own unique style.

Funny thing is, both are juniors and they will be back next year.

Cory's oline returns as well. How many returns for JC?

Davenport hands down. If Hilton would let him have more touches he would break alot of records.
