I think the game was a measuring stick game for JC and showed how far they have came. Belfry is always Belfry, and is known for playing tough physical football. They were dominated from start to finish and they did something that no Belfry team has done for as long as I can remember, and that is quit. Regardless, JC's win showed they are playing their best football at the right time...that is why it was probably a HUGE win.

Was Williams the QB that threw the returned interception and made the fumble on back to back possessions, or was that Warren?

It's about pride, something your team didn't play with last night. The last game of the season before you enter the playoffs, you want to go in on a big note with all things clicking.

I heard there was a question about one play at the end, and he did get a flag threw on him,but didnt hear of anything else, i also watched the 1st half and there was nothing out of the way,IF there was any misconduct, then yes they should be ejected, theres No place for that.

Looks like Belfry wasn't able to make this be the game they wanted it to be! How many yards did JJ Jude run for in this one?
Congrats JC!!

Actually it could have been much worse if Matney had wanted to pour it on in the 4th quarter. He subbed freely right after the controversial episode, (which according to some, didn't actually even happen. Purely figments of everyone's imagination) . The only TD that Belfry did score took them, I think 5 or 6 straight plays inside the 1 yard line to punch in.

Yet, according to a few who were standing approx. 10 feet from this, stated that Williams DID get in on the QB keeper, yet they were not given the TD but made to run it again.... One TD was not going to win the game for Belfry so why argue over it? Granted, Belfry was outplayed but could the JC fans at least win with some class? My goodness, where in the world do you think Matney came from people? He was taught to win and lose with class and some of these posts are NOT showing that! I do think that most posts in here have been to congratulate JC including one from myself!

It happened, posted it but mine got deleted....oh well. If I stepped on some toes (phs1986) I apologize, just upset that a shot was taken that late in the game to physically injure a player that has a very bright future and could take away any chance of earning a scholarship to play at the next level. Once again, I apologize. Best of luck to both teams in the playoffs.

I've noticed that too...it's getting kind of ridiculous that if anyone posts anything bad or that looks bad on the team that a Mod or Admin is a fan of almost always gets deleted, and the person usually gets a referral or whatever they give out. The modding on this site has went WAY down over the last year or two. They used to be on top of that stuff, now they're only on top of it if it's about their school.
lol, phs1986 tends to actually pay attention when people post things like that about Belfry, but somehow she misses everything else that's posted about ANY other team. Kind of biased if you ask me. Aren't mods and admins supposed to be "fair"?
Anyway, man, Belfry has fallen off the map these past 2 or 3 years...can't say it bothers me a bit though, hah. I always like to see the county more balanced with good teams like this year. Anyone know what Belfry's future is looking like?

Who cares? You can't tell other people to not argue this crap if you argue right back with them...Of course, JC fans are going to say that they "talked" to a few who were standing exactly approximately 10 feet from it and say he didn't get it, and Belfry fans are going to say the opposite. Good lord.

I guess somethings never change, here you come to the rescue. It must be nice to have a fan/parent as a mod on here. I bet most fan's from others schools wish they had that luxury. I notice you bring up winning and loosing with class then why for the past three years haven't all of the Belfry coaches come through the post game hand shake? I know for a fact that all of Johnson Central's staff participate in the post game shake so why doesn't the bald coach from Belfry do so? Sorry I don't know his name but is he a sore loser? I find this behavior very odd, because in my opinion Coach Haywood is a top notch person and I'm suprised he put's up with this type of behavior on his staff. Wasn't this guy taught the same way as you said coach Matney?
What post in this thread has not showed class and how do you know that they're from Johnson Central? This thread has been mild compared to some of the threads that's on here and here you come in here editing posts and acting like it's pure chaos. Where were you two weeks ago when the Johnson Central program was getting blasted by people who wasn't even at the game but yet was an expert on the particular game? Where were you during the Pike Central rumor thread that was closed a couple of days ago? Do you just moderate Belfry threads? Seems like you just show up when your afraid Belfry's going to get some bad press on here.

I usually don't say a lot.But what happened to JJ Friday night was a cowardly act.It was probably one of the worst cheap shots anyone will see on film.I promise people will see it too.Say what you want about JCHS but cheap shots like that should be dealt with harshly.I dont know how it is handled in Belfry. But with probably one of the best coaches ever in the state of Ky he will do the right thing and deal out the punishment for what happened. If nothing is done I will definetly lose a lot of respect for the Belfry coaches.Belfry is what every program in East Ky wants to be like.Champions don't take cheap shots.

Your right it sure did happen muchacho. I just seen it again on Ihigh at around the 37:10 mark on the third segment. I don't know what was posted that she edited but surely she isnt insisting that the cheap shot out of bounds didn't pertain to the game or was questionable. If that's the case then all I can say is WOW! :yikes:

1)So now the refs cheated Belfry?
2)By the way, you are the only one arguing the TD, in case you haven't noticed. Please go back and check that out.
3)Please show one classless post by someone from JC. All I have seen are respectful posts that directly talk about the game, and the game ONLY.
4) One point I will make is that Matney showed way more class than he should have to show with the way in which he handled the cheap shot (excuse me,the incident that didn't happen) situation. He could have retaliated and really poured it on after the incident, but instead did the exact oposite. He could have, and had every right to have made it very very very ugly , but DID NOT. I guess you can thank your lucky stars that he did come from where he did, because Belfry sure had it coming to them after that ordeal.
5)Does the definintion of "class" include moderating fairly and not censoring posts just when Belfry wins and does that include not deleting posts when warranted criticizim comes Belfry's way?
6) Didn't know that you had a son playing until someone else just mentioned it, but seeing that the case, this makes this question even more doubley interesting. If your son was the one that got the cheapshot that JJ got would you not be screaming bloody murder? You can bet your life that you would be the one leading the parade, and rightfully so. Dont deny someone else the right to do the same. Just be fair here phs.

I'm not sure why comments would be deleted, but I didn't see them.
What I did see (both at the game and on ihigh) was the very cheap shot by a Belfry player on Jude on the sideline. 15 yards behind the play and the Belfry player blind sided him. As a Belfry fan I thought it was a stupid and dangerous move by a 3rd year starter who should know better.
Why can't we discuss the bad with the good? Sweeping it under the rug won't help. We need to encourage our kids to own their mistakes and take their medicine, not hide from them and pretend they didn't occur. This player made a dumb mistake, cost his team a big penalty and put another player at serious risk in a very public way. He has never done anything like that in the past that I have ever seen or heard of. I have every confidence his coaches will deal with the issue and he won't ever do that again.

Let me throw a little objectivity into this thread...
1)JC dominated the game from the start...Their brand of power football is the type that will serve them well deep into the playoffs.
2)Belfry has too many holes on the defensive side of the ball to consistently stop a team like JC.
3) It is a joke that someone said Belfry has fallen off the map...They have taken a step back the last two years but still can compete with just about any of the teams they play except for a powerhouse 5A team like JC.
4) The blindside late hit was uncalled for to say the least. Good kid, bad decision...IMO, an internal suspension would be in order, but I do not make those calls. To say that the offence would be one for ejection is debateable. It was a hard hit totally away from the play, but it was not a punch or no helmet was taken off so I can look at that deal both ways. In the end, had they thrown the player out, there would not have been much room to argue it.
5) Belfry still has a shot to do some damage this year...The East region is a four team race and there is no dominant team. West Carter will be a tough first round matchup, but Belfry should be favored by a couple of scores. A possible second round game at Mason County is tough but winnable. My question is, is what mindframe would the Pirates approach a game like that with? If Belfry can focus for 48 minutes, then they could win it. If not, then they could be sent home.
6) Like I have said in other threads... Beat Belfry now...The cupboard is getting restocked with speed, power and size.
BTW, just joking about about other people not being objective. I just get tired of some of the statements from people who have no idea what goes on with a program. I see this Pirate team every week and I have not missed a game in years. I watch practices and I talk to coaches and players and I watch JV, Freshman, and middle school games. I am not saying I am the all-knowing guru of Belfry football, but for the most part I am fairly close to the truth with most things I put out there.

You see phs1986, there are even Belfry fans as well who do not like seeing your editing and deleting all the time just to suit your needs. In politics it's referred to as an abuse of power.
