Middlesboro 51 South Laurel 45 (OT)
#1
Middlesboro needs a new Defense. Their Offense can play pretty well when they dont get frustrated and upset. Look forward to watching them in the coming years with the new staff
#2
Now thats a game! Congrats Middlesbro
#3
Wow i didnt think South would play them that close.
I think Welch is done at South.
South finishes 0-10 for the first time in school history.
#4
Grateful for the win ...

Get ready for round one
Go Jackets

Talked to middlesboro coaches after the game. Two of there def starters were not there tonight. One suspended and another due to mother illness. #4 and Qb can play for them. We had a chance should have done much better this year. We only finished the year with 24 players. that has to change.
#6
Sounds like a dandy. Conrats M'boro.
#7
Middlesboro have a legit chance to make a run in the playoffs?
#8
Offensive shootout. Congrats Yellow Jackets.
#9
congrats to Middle

Congrats Middlesboro!! I think this game will help in the playoffs, being able to overcome adversity and win in OT!

Congrats Middlesboro

Tough loss for South Laurel. Congrats Middlesboro.

How many players are currently dressing for Middlesboro? Of those, how many are seniors?
#14
Nice to see some life out of South to end the season. South football has slowly dropped off of the face of the earth over the last few years. Middle school teams have been from good to great over the last 4-6 years, not sure why doesn't translate up to HS.
#15
Hope it gives the Jackets some confidence. I think the Clay County game took alot out of them earlier in the year the way they lost it. Like to see a rematch with corbin

I think 45 and around 14 are Seniors. They have a good group of freshman coming in next year too.

Has Major Edwards been dressing for the Jackets the last couple of games? i think i saw him at the Corbin game he was wearing #2.

Why would he dress he can't play? He is in 8th grade.

I am about 98% sure it was him , he is a really nice looking athlete , I hope he and the rest of the team hits the weight room hard this offseason cause we have some very talented players now and going to be coming through next year and on down the road.

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard if he is dressing. That makes no sense at all.

There are several 8th graders practicing with the freshmen group. Makes great sense, they get extra practice and they want to see what games are like. I like to see the interest in the program again. 3 weeks of extra practice for 8th grade. Not stupid....smart. If they want to dress and stand on the sidelines ..good for them. They can't play but great experience.

If he did play then i think that usually counts as a year of eligibility doesnt it.
I dont see them doing that, the kid wouldnt be able to play his senior year.
But i might be wrong, never heard of it before though.
Congrats Mboro

Major Edwards does dress for the high school but hasnt played any. To my knowledge he has been the only one.

Yea, Whitley has dressed out a couple of really good eighth graders before too let them get the feel of a varsity game but never played them.
It's good for these really good athletes to keep interest and feel the greatness of Friday nights.
