GO PANTHERS!!! Way to take care of buisness in the district. You now have home field advantage through the playoffs!!! Play hard next week and then get ready for the real season!

Didn't look as sharp as we did against BL, but I'll take it.

The near-impossible non district schedule weve played the last 2 years is finally over. Heres hoping Coach Mac makes a schedule next year that is a little more realistic.

Amen!
Pikeville should keep Belfry and Prestonsburg on the schedule and play good Class A teams in the other nondistrict games. Please don't go the other way and schedule patsies....:please:

cuppett777 Wrote:so you can have more wins, i think it helps you playing better teams..We've been doing it for 5 years. I agree that it helps, to an extent. The PCB, Belfry, and Prestonsburg are company enough on the Panthers' schedule while we rebuild. And it isn't like I am saying we add Knott, Jenkins, Betsy Layne, etc... I am saying play games, in which, we can at least compete. Teams like Raceland, Harlan, Pineville, Bellevue, etc.. will help while the program is rebuilt and will add some actual games into the mix. We got nothing out of playing Boyle and Danville. Lexington Catholic for 2 years and played pretty well. Henry Clay, NewCath, Cov Holy Cross, Sheldon Clark, etc.. Enough is enough we are not on the level at to which we should play a full schedule of juggernauts.
Think of it this way. How exciting is it to week in and out watch a lop-sided game. I believe the last two years, we have played 2, count them, 2 games with single digit score differential. That is insane! And over the last 5 years I would venture to say it is no more than 8-10. Play some games in which we can be at least competitive, and keep Belfry, PCB, and Prestonsburg. You have got to see how this makes a lot of sense. Pikeville has showed that it won't run from the big boys, but it is also smart enough to realize we don't belong playing with the big boys at this point in time. Give us some time and we will be back to a high level.

Not surprised about the final in this one, went as I expected. No team has fallen from grace quicker than the Tigers.

This was the team that they were claiming was gonna win atleast 8 games for paintsville before the season started. I hate to imagine next season, well I would if they had a decent schedule. They have a shot at winning all their non district games and then get smoked in all the district games since they probably made the weakest schedule in the state. Everyone thats seen paintsville's non-district schedule has laughed. If paintsville isn't searching for new coach after this season i'll be surprised

I seen their pigskin preview and their coach mentioned that he fully expected a winning season. I just don't know what has happened, maybe it's the old horse saying "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make 'em drink." The kids just will not get up and play for him...however on a side note, I spoke to people that are familiar with the program and mentioned after the last coaching change that Paul Raines (guided LCA to a Class A title and a coaching icon) wanted the position.

You have got to be kidding me? They turned down Raines? Oh well, thats what politics gets you, 3 terrible seasons and a bunch of lame excuses for why they can't win. They had several good coaches wanting the job and they let money buy their decission. Wonder how much longer his family can keep paying for his job before they admit they made the wrong hire

Amen bro! Imo, playing the Boyle co.'s, Danville's, Lex.Cath's,etc., has done nothing but taken a chance on getting some players hurt or out for the season. Hopefully, we'll be at a higher level one day soon as P.T. said, and the tougher non disrict teams won't be such a challenge.

Worst defensive team in phs history. If something isn't done after this season the program will probably never get back on track. My wife and I have discussed it and Im definitely going to send my kids to JC unless changes are made
