NCC freshmen proves program is who we thought they were!!!
#1
What a cowardly, pathetic, classless act by the Newcath freshmen team. They cancel the game with Highlands out of fear? What are they teaching these kids? That it's okay to cancel a game if you're fearful of the outcome?

Don't schedule the game in the first place if you don't intend to honor the commitment. When asked directly about the game earlier this year, a player said, "it depends on how we're doing whether we play or not." I thought he was misinformed since it was on every schedule. Apparently NCC is not doing enough in the coaches eyes so he cancels the game against Highlands.

Don't give me the excuse that they have another game(which they now do.) If someone calls me and tells me I have an added game in the small school playoffs, my response is that we have to wait a week or at least a few days because we have a prior game commitment. We can just cancel a game and leave an opponent in a bind.

NCC is in the small school championship in 2 weeks regardless of the outcome of their newly scheduled game. IMO NCC just sent an example of inferiority to their players. Hopefully kids will think twice before going to NCC to play small ball.

Actually not all that upset about it. Understand where NCC is coming from and don't blame them. Not that big of a deal. The game with Highlands does nothing for them. If they are playing in the small school championship in 2 weeks , I can understand them not wanting to risk injury in a game that really doesn't mean anything but maybe some 40+ somethings trying to rekindle a Highlands vs. NCC rivalry.
#3
Feh. No big deal.

^ for real
#5
Maybe they couldn't get a bus driver? Just because a player told you that dont mean its the real reason. Get real. There are 1000000 different reasons people cancel JV games.
#6
A school with small numbers, might have a number of injuries already and can not afford any more. Do not think it is a big deal in Freshmen ball; would be wrong thing to do if it was varsity. I have alot of friends who have kids who attend NCC; I would enjoy a varsity game between these two schools for the social aspect and to see friends kids play. I do not really care about the rivalry though.

^ I was talking to the Camels Frosh coach Friday night, and I think that regardless of the outcome of the NCC/HHS frosh game, HHS was getting the bye and will play in the Frosh champsionship.

Bottom line is you don't schedule games and cancel when you want your program to be respected.

bottom line who cares? It's a freshan game NCC is respected around the state as a good 2A team

Besides if it really bothers you so much here's some information you may need. Posting on here will do nothing, writing or calling some of these men may help in future scheduling issues.

NCC isn't even respected by most in the county in which it resides. If the going gets tough....cancel the game!

That's far from the truth.:please:

This is laughable! I am no NCC fan, they are a rival, but respected, you are WRONG! 100% wrong! You speak for the minority!

They're not respected in the capital of the football area in Campbell County and never will be bailing on scheduled games. As I said, if the going looks tough, cancel the game.

Lol, you seem to be the ONLY one in the county speaking ill of NCC's program. What a hoot!

Just where is this "capital of the football area"? I've got some time off later in the week and I can get some pictures so others can pay homage.:eyeroll:

NCC should have never scheduled the game. However NCC is still a very respected program in Northern KY. A 2A school that beat Dixie and played Ryle tough this year. Their freshman numbers are generally pretty light and they play very few JV games. It's really a numbers game more than fear or being cowardly.

At least you guys can get games. Russell had 10 freshmen games sceduled. 5 of the first 8 were cancelled.

:lmao:ok maybe you need to get out of the basement every once in awhile because Ft.Thomas isn't the center of the universe, state, or even the county (technically speaking geographical center of the county is Alexandria:ClapSmile.

I so glad that "most" Bluebirds fans aren't like you.

Who said I was a Bluebird fan?

My point is clear, don't schedule the game if you think you can't compete. Once it's scheduled, you don't cancel. Almost every team in N. Ky has light numbers on the freshmen level. That's a bogus excuse. It's all about being afraid to get pummeled.

Anyone with a son, needing to make a decision on where to send their son to high school needs to take a long hard look at this cancellation reason. I don't see Brossart or Holy Cross dropping games the week of the game.

Well since you are ripping NCC for not playing I would have guessed you're not a fan of the 'Breds thus you would be a Cake Eater. If you are a fan of the 'Breds then you would understand the issues facing small schools playing JV and Freshman games. Some weeks you have to cancel for various reasons.

If you are neither then as I posted earlier Who Cares? It's only a freshman game.

both of these teams have and do.
Brossart just dropped Bellevue last Friday (they were scheduled to play on Monday 10/18). IN fact Brossart has dropped a few games on the JV level this year because players were needed to play up. All small school teams do it from time to time

After seeing the NCC freshmen team photo, it might be a good thing they cancelled. I'm now saying they don't need this game. Perhaps they can schedule a game with a middle school team.

Or perhaps an NCC fan who's tired of the small ball attitude.

From what I understand, this game has been replaced by Boyle County. Should be a good one.

Go Birds...Beat Rebels!
