Instead of District 8 having to play HHS or Covington Catholic in round 1, they would've had to play Knox, Rock, etc.
Instead HHS, Covington Catholic, etc should be playing Boyle, Lex Cath in round 1.
Depends on how you're setting it up. N vs NE/S vs SW, N vs S/NE vs SW or N vs SW/S vs NE. You're eventually going to have to play the big hitters. Who's to say what's right in this case.

I know the football purist might say, "It just isn't the same to win a district title if you don't beat Bell." Not me. Bell has more titles than will fit on their stadium at this point. If not playing them allows our school a better shot at that type of success - I'm all for it. Success breeds more success. Our program is improving every week. The more these kids experience and come to expect winning - the more they will win.

Disrict 8 is brutal.

Russell Co got the shaft, because of Letcher Co. being moved to 5A out of Knox, Rock, Clay district. You better try to get someone on the board of control that has pull like Ozz Jackson did for his school (Letcher Central) He sure didn't take care of the other schools in his region.

The Rockcastle, Knox, Clay, Russell County district will be a great one to watch. 3 teams will be fighting it out for years to come. I am sure that Mills and Parkey did a fist bump when Bell County left the district.

Lexington Catholic\Boyle\Marion\Mercer in one district, wow.

Anyone think that JC will play up to get away from the highlands bug? I think they would be in the district with Perry and Harlan and them.

I thought the whole thing was set in stone, but now I hear that schools have until October 18 to petition to play up because of geographic hardship, or as we call it "keep away from Highlands".

It's probably buried elsewhere in this thread, but is HHS conisdering petitioning to play in 5A, or does the schedule now warrant a better schedule transportation wise, versus the last reorg?

District 5 - Conner, Cooper, Grant County, Scott, South Oldham in 5A
Can not see it .From weak to weaker.

You might need to check and see if you have your time zone set to Eastern Standard Time. Should be something in your user CP.
Nope, just checked. I'm set up correctly, but the site shows this at the bottom of the page: All times are GMT -4. The time now is 11:08 PM. You guys are right. That's irritating.

Not that I've heard. They've got everything they want. Nice, short drives for district games and CovCath along for the ride.

Highlands is not petitioning to move to 5A. Even if they asked they would not be allowed due to the proximity of the schools in their district.

I don't see why it matters if your wanting to win a state championships
Your gonna have to beat highlands, boyle, lex cath, and cov cath, no matter what so just beat whoever your up against and don't make excuses of we have to play highlands or boyle cause so does everyone else if they wanna win a state title

Outside of a District of Highlands, Boyle, Johnson Central & Lexington Catholic - who would you suggest that the Birds be in a District with? Truth is, other than the above mentioned District, Highlands is a lock in any NKY combination right now.

In 08 we were the 2nd best team in the state and never even won the district or got to leave region. This year, the same thing could happen again if Bell wins state. Not sad to see them go! Spread the love and let a couple of teams from this area open a can at the state level. You could see a Bell 3A and a Knox 4A state championship next year if Highlands happens to miss bus to our game... LOL.

Football1 I like this post but I guarantee you that certain posters (won't mention names) from Boyle will jump all over this. Trust me, it's a matter of time.lol
I for one would love to see Bell and Knox both in the state final games along with some other teams from this area as well.
