LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON
#3
as always I'll rally behind my Pike Central Hawks!!!!!!!! GO HAWKS,Good luck with the rest of your season
#4
Pike Central. Go hawks.
#5
Somerset!
#6
i think S.C.H.S CARDS will take it
#7
At this stage I think its fair to say that Somerset has staked their claim as the prohibitive East favorite. I would give the nod to Central in the West with PT a very very close 2nd. The East is littered with possible contenders who may have the talent to unseat Somerset come playoff time. Mason, Sheldon Clark, Pike Central look to be the closest to the Briar Jumpers at this point with Belfry and Breathitt showing spurts of brilliance but no consistency.

idk who to pick... either sheldon clark or somerset i cant make a decision

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

as of today, i would say #1 Somerset,#2 SC,#3 Mason- Belfry (tie) #4 Pcc- Breahitt (tie), and number 1&2 big difference from the rest right now..

I don't know I think Somerset has definitely earned the top spot but I'd say you gotta throw in some West teams like PT, Central, and UC to make it legit. They don't have as good of records but they will definitely be the most battled tested come playoff time. I'm not afraid to be a homer though and say Somerset takes home the 3A title!
#12
SOMERSET all the way!!!
#13
Since there are no 3A schools up here in NKY I will go with Mason.

The JUMPERS,
#16
Somerset is my pick.
But I'm pulling for Pike Central

Somerset's foes are a collective 9-14. They have beaten one team, Danville, with a winning record (3-2.) And that is the second best team in the Mountains?

Don't know yet who will come out of the west. Still a few games to worry about. But I am seeing a lot that reminds me of last year's season in 3A.
#18
Blue tornados!! They have played Fort Campbell and Mayfield already this season so they are battle tested, and they are the defending champs
#19
Haven't seen any 3A teams in the mountians play besides Somerset and Breathitt Co. against cville and BC didn't really impress me at all. I've seen Cville play about a few times and I was shocked they played BC that close

OK, but they have beaten them all badly. So by your opinion West teams are better because they lose to good teams and Somerset isn't as good because they beat all the teams they were supposed to fairly easily. Who was Somerset supposed to play? They were in a contract to play every game they have played so far this season, it's not like they could change their record to make it a little easier on the eyes. It's purely opinion, don't get offended because everybody isn't ready to crown Tilghman yet. Teams do improve, I think you might be a witness to that.

I ll go with Union Co. It may be a homer pick since that is my birthplace; but I can tell u 1 thing- this team believes. The community has rallied behind this group of young men and if its ever going to happen for Union ,this is the yr. I will take Union over Pike Central (but if Somerset wins it I wouldnt be suprised) I do consider them the heavy favorites!!!!

Too much football to be played to worry about this right now. Too many things can happen between now and December. The eventual state champion might be sitting with an undefeated record right now or they might be struggling at 1-4. Who know? I am excited to see how it plays out.

I bet Somerset folks are breathing easier in 2010 since that pesky Knox Central was replaced this year with Lynn Camp. Whew! That was a close one last year.

That was part of the contract to play in the Pioneer Bowl. We played Knox last season and had to play Lynn Camp this season. It certainly wasn't because Somerset was afraid to play Knox--who has a fine team and program. You also have to remember that last year's as well as this year's schedule was made out by the previous head coach, all of this year's games are the 2nd year of 2 year contracts.

What does this have to do with this thread anyway?

It looks to me like the east is weaker again this year and I expect the title to come from the west with the front runners at this stage ofthe season being PT and Central. Union may also be a threat but my favorites are PT and Central.

Wasn't the Briar Jumpers undefeated last year until the title game too. I see last year all over again:devilflam

No one in Somerset has forgotten anything!!!
#28
Long way to go yet, I'm not sure how the playoff's will pan out. But Somerset, should do well in the East. Central and PT will compete in the West. One thing for sure, we will play it out on the field.
#29
I'm afraid that Somerset will get a rude awaking to the real world of football if they meet the Central Yellowjackets in the final.

Central Yellowjackets gonna sting you!! :redboxer:

A lot of GOOD football teams in the east, way to early for the Jumpers to be thinking about Central, Tilghman, Union, Henry or any other west team. Who ever comes out of the east will show up and play ball, they will not be overwhelmed at the prospect of playing a team form the other side of the state.
