Assuming Mac does leave, WHo would you like to see take the reigns, or who do you think would take the reigns?
I have my money on Chad Salyer....He is a good coach who could take the team where Mac left it and possibly lead them to state. Like i've said before...I think it is important to keep someone in there as head coach who already knows this team....Salyer KNOWS this team and its limits....I just hope that PHS hires Salyer upon Mac's departure (assuming he is leaving)

I think that they will bring someone in from the outside but I hope that they keep the rest of the staff for the fact that they know the players as you put it...
But I could see a change coming and someone from outside the program...maybe even the area.

They need to bring someone in from outside the system, because IMO there is no one in the current system that can lead them to state. There are a lot of good coaches in KY that will be intersted in the head coaching job at Pikeville. There is no need to settle for someone that is allready a coach at Pikeville, because I think they can do a lot better.

If mac does leave i would love to see either heelard howard or ben howard take over at pikeville

If he leaves, then I think it would be best for Pikeville to bring in a coach from outside of the program. It wouldn't be hard to lure in a great coach, considering Pikeville has always been blessed with talent on the football field.

The real Salyer doesn't like the nickname slayer, so it's not him. By the way guys, we can tell that a lot of you are posting from the high school, we know your IP adress.

Personally I would like to see Bill Bellichik come in to take over...If we can't get him...My second choice would be Andy Reed!

the only coach from with in the team that i see geting the job is salyer

First of all its Andy Reid, and quit postin stupid shit on here, if u dont have nething intelligent to say, dont!...
as far as the thread, i gotta beleive someone from the outside has to come in if Pikeville is goin to get past region. slayer is not the answer Pikeville is lookin for. i have heard good things from the players about coach ratliff, the kids seem to love em, but a more high caliber coach should be interested. why not shoot for the best the state has to offer?
02-08-2005, 09:43 PM
Hahaha baseballfan13 was just Playin.......anyway..Coach Salyers is an extraordinary coach.......He wil make this team do what it takes to win that championship........i think if the team was entirely his we would really make a boom....still i would like to have the mac slayer combo

Like I said before....Pikeville needs someone from with in last years team to step up and take the reigns......This team is seasoned according to Mac's style of play....To bring in someone outside the family for THIS season would be stupid.
And don't cut salyer short.....He is a great coach...I have much love for the man...Many props go out to Salyer.....He is the one to take over if mac leaves....I just hope the school isn't to blind to see that.
All the team will have to do if salyer is coach is "Take a hold of the rope....I (He) will lead you (them) to the top!!!"
