If you work hard on the off season wich any player in the moutains can come workout with salmons an the gang an you will see them huffing and running to the can. I can say this cause I have been apart of several of his work outs myself. An if you think hardwork doesnt win games your nuts and never played a down of football in your life. You go out and you out work the man in front of you every play and your goin to get a win. As to the talent part you got to have heart and there could be the fastest man on earth but if he dont want to be on that field and use every single drop of talent he has it dont mean jack. Lawrence has proved there hard work cause it takes a ton of hardwork to turn a program from 0-11 to undefeated in the regular season without it.

Well after LC "goes up against" every team east of Lexington and their linemen go to the lab and analyze the results of whether or not the other teams feel like "marshmellows" (a very calm and relaxed grassy wet land) or marshmallows (a fluffy sugary treat) only then will I believe that they are the hardest working team in eastern KY. So far they have posted wins against East Ridge 3A (3-8 last season), Paintsville 1A (4-7 last season), and a very young Shelby Valley 2A (8-4 last season) none of which made it further than the second round of the playoffs last season. Imagine how many points the UK basketball team could put on the board if they opened up their season with Alice Lloyd, Pikeville College, and the University of the Cumberlands. LC will have a good record at the end of the regular season maybe 9-1 or 8-2 but they will have the same result in the playoffs. Whipping up on the little guys does get you ready for the teams like Bell Co. Take a page out of Shawn Hager's book and schedule teams like:
Johnson Central- 5A ranked 4th
Prestonsburg- 2A ranked 7th
Breathitt Co- 3A ranked 5th
Frankfort- 1A ranked 7th
Its gets you ready for district games like:
Belfry- 3A ranked 7th
Pike Central- 3A ranked 10th

Thank You for comparing us to the UK basketball team  and I am sorry you are Alice Lloyd, Pikeville and the University of Cumberland!! I can not believe you are upset over the Marshmellow comment when I have been reading about how SOFT our schedule is for a year and a half now, do you not get that when someone calls our schedule weak and sof that if you are on it (the schedule) that they are calling you weak and soft!!! Come on people. I have even read post from fans, players ect. that are on our schedule call it soft and weak well are you calling yourself or team weak and soft because guess waht you are on it!!! It blows my mind that you have not taken offense to that!! :omg: How does working hard have anything to do with the schedule. It doesn't!!! I am tickled to death that you have a tough schedule we would have been tickled to death if we could have dropped Paintsville, SV and ER this year and picked up other teams but guess what!! We were locked into contracts and it would have cost the school money to drop them. Your Coach (Paintsvilles) begged to play us after our 0-11 record. If my memory serves me correctly he was wanting us for your homecoming game last year and it did not work out. I'm sure he or any of the other coaches did not have any idea that Luke Salmons was taking a group of ****ary Kids and WORKING them HARD in the WEIGHT ROOM getting them STRONGER, FASTER and in the best PHYSICAL SHAPE of their lives. GO DAWGS!!!

I don't think so. I do understand they are locked into several games by contract though. Hopefully after this year the schedule becomes much more difficult.

I was simply pointing out that LC has played teams that are well below their class. I could only compare you to UK if they had a schedule full of DII, DIII, and NAIA schools, but they don't, they play very tough DI teams like they should. Going back to the original point of you claiming that LC is the "hardest working team in eastern KY". That is a very broad and rediculous statement. That is like claiming to be the smartest person alive, or the happiest person in the world. It is completely immeasurable and a very bold and untrue statement. Some how you got confused with the point I was trying to make. Its like I'm trying to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

You need to PREVIEW YOUR POST before posting!!! Guess what their are people that are smarter and happier than others. Some people are very dumb, sad and have no comprehension!!! Now due to this having nothing to do with Sheldon Clark playing Lawrence County I'm done with you!!!Go Dawgs Beat The Cardinals!!!
I am going with Sheldon Clark. They have played a decent schedule and LC has played their pastry type schedule. SC also has a advantage on the sidelines.

SC 28

LC 21

I believe LC had Knox Central on their pastry type schedule last year.
I think this one could go either way. Just dont think Lawrence will be as ready defensively.

SC- 30
LC- 22

Nice comeback. That was pretty original. Did you come up with that all by yourself or did you Google "smart remarks" and copy and paste?

Your win against us was a nice show of a solid team with exceptional coaching. While I am a huge fan of LC as a program with a professional staff that I admire: I really hope we get to meet in the playoffs. There is just enough arrogance floating around there in posts like this one that warrants a solid butt kicking. So, hope to see you soon.

I was thinking the same thing but didn't have the nerve to even bring it up :1:
Important question: Any truth to the rumor that SC will have some players out on both sides of the ball for Friday Night? I heard maybe an ILB.

We have only one player out that I know of and we lost him in the first game of the season

Don't let this post show how LC fans are. I would say 90% of LC fans respect Knox Central's progam and I am definatley one.

Ok thats why they have yet to give up a TD against them all year... Its going to be a battle LC will come out on top.

We all know SC has a losing record right now. They have played a really tough schedule and could easily be 2-2 or even 3-1. This will be a really good test for LC. If LC wins will everyone on here still say they haven't played anybody? As for Knox, I was very impressed with them last year. They play hard and are very well coached. I hope to meet up with them again this year in the playoffs. That was a very good game to watch.

Dont try and use LCs record to justify your LOSSES .....:rockon::rockon::please:
it was me (Tyler O'connor) who got hurt the first game of the season, yes i did hurt my knee, i had surgery 2 weeks ago and i am out for the season..with that being said..it was the first game of the season ..and we have played brethitt..frankfort..and jc without me..and this will be the 4th week that ive been gone, players have been moved around to diffrent positions , And yes my injury did hurt this team, defense ecspecially, but this was a month ago..and our D has adjusted and is just as good as it was a month ago..if not better ... this is a very very very good football team..and we could very easily be 3-1 this year..ill take my cards by 2 td's..
No one knows just how good LC is yet. I think everyone can agree LC is good but just how good? I don't know what echelon of teams to put them in yet. If they want to have any chance against Bell County, they will need to beat Sheldon Clark convincingly. The big boys up front will need to control the line of scrimmage. Stop the long drives Sheldon Clark acquired against Johnson Central. If everyone can execute their assignment with minimal mistakes Lawrence County has the talent to win this one going away. Play hard and play smart. Give Caleb Bentley and Hunter James running lanes while keeping the defense honest with a very capable Hayden Kiser. Looking forward to the matchup.

Knox Central has a possible state championship team this year. Year in and year out they rank as one of the very best teams in the state at any class level. All sports programs could learn from the KC coaching staff on how to run a successful program. LC is working hard to be on the same level as Bell, Knox, Boyle. With that being said I wanted to point out to the poster that LC had the same schedule last year and at some point LC played KC and was able to pull out a win. Does that make KC a "pastry type team"? I don't think so but evidently the poster does. The poster implied that LC played a "pastry type schedule" year in and year out but does not give LC one bit of respect for playing a solid game against one of the best teams in the state last year. I hope LC is good enough to return to the playoffs this year. It takes a very solid program to even get there. If we do maybe we will see KC again and I am sure it will be a very competitive game as it was last year. I have heard that the KC offense has improved over last year.
