East Ridge 31 Shelby Valley 6

FloridaFan Wrote:Everyone is dogging the players of valley, how about looking for at coaches. The plays were awful, players were not utilized for the capabilities and it was a disgrace of coaching not only playing.

Anyway, about valley's defense..it was the same thing a few years ago when hampton Tried to take over, i mean any team that runs up the middle is gonna gain or break it since he stands 2 ppl up outside the ends and shoots them every play no matter what

I'm really dissapointed with valley coaches for letting the team look like this...

I totally agree with you FloridaFan. It was like the coaches had absolutley no game plan at all. Offense was everywhere and defense just stood around and got blocked.

You could tell the players werent disciplined at all also. Walking to the line, walking on and off the field, hanging there heads when they got down, slinging their helmets, talking back to their coaches, and heck, I watched two kids actually quit and walk to the lockerroom in the 4th quarter! I could say their jersey numbers but Im not going to. I know they are a young team but their is no excuse to act like they did. And it all leads back to coaching. IMO

The players name with the "hit" was Bret reynolds I belive i metiond him in the last thread about this game! Facemask or not i know that anyone who seen that hit and was at this game would agree that it was sick! I was told by some people that was sitting on the ER sideline that one of the players hit bret for almost killing dalton lewis but there was no excuse for the ER sideline to resort to that after there player got hit good...some of you may see it as a penelty but that wasent the call so my opinion still stands that it was a good hit!

I think probably what happened was that Valley overlooked East Ridge since they rolled them pretty good the last time they played. It is poor coaching for not having the team ready, but it's the same coaching staff that didn't mind hanging up 60+ last week on a weak Knott Co. team. Due to graduating a LOT of talent last season...looks like the shoe's going to be on the other foot this year for the Wildcats and I wouldn't be surprised if a few teams don't try to run it up on them this year.

You thought that was a good hit? Let me ask you a couple of questions; Where you even at the game? Are you just saying that to stir up trouble? That "hit" was a blatant facemask, I saw it at the game, and I saw it on the film, it was OBVIOUS. I don't know the boy that did it, but in my opinion it was a deliberate personal foul and the boy should have been ejected from the game.

Agreed. The kid who did the facemask needs to sit out around 2-3 games. He could have seriously hurt Dalton Lewis. I pray to the good lord above.thats not what Norman is teaching his kids when they are losing.

I have no ties to either school. I wasn't going to comment on here about the " hit ". But here goes. That was the most blatant hit that i have ever seen while watching a high school football game.

The SV kid in question is a transfer and has had problems like this in the past.

Wouldn't you want the rest of your teammates to stand up for you if someone intentionally grabbed your facemask like that? This was nothing close to a good hit. He was trying to hurt the kid because they couldn't stop him.

i dont understand how a player gets ejected on the play prior to the blatant hit and nobody gets tossed on this play. some refs truly lack any sense of
"judgement" on the field.

Couldnt have said it no better, It was a very poor job from the officials.

I have so much pride for the Warriors, I have went to school with the guys on that team for four years now, and they deserve this win more than anybody knows. Hopefully they will continue these winning ways. Congrats Warriors, you guys earned it.

Well first of all, it wasnt a hit. It was a blatant grab of the facemask with intent to hurt. It wasnt even close to a football play. Right before this happened an East Ridge player was ejected for what seemed to be nothing at all and the SV player doesnt on the blatant facemask play.

The refs in Eastern Kentucky are simply absolutley horrible. Period. Andf should be ashamed of their actions and non-actions last night.
#44
Sounds like someone was being a punk and trying to hurt someone.

So, I was wrong about this game i let my judgment of past Er teams let me make my decision on it. Seems like ER has improved much and This is a big win for them, If they can get some wins Our district will be one of the toughest in 3A

Way to go Warrior..Congrats to all the boys you played a remarkable game. It takes everyone on the team doing their job to do what they did last night. That is STOMP SV...

Valley lost a lot but ER has also improved a lot...Regardless of what Valley lost they were pretty much dominated from start to finish
#51
valley really dissapointed me. congrats er.
#52
I completely retract every statement i ever made about the outcome of this game. ER has improved quite a bit and #22 is a beast. and not to take away from ER, but Valley looked terrible. absolutely terrible. they just got man handled all over the field. didnt even look like they wanted to be out there. It's a shame what this team has come too. a terrible, terrible shame.

Congrats ER

how about them warriors
#54

Confusedhh:

Is that true? They really got 16 transfers?

Wrong!!!! The player who made the hit was not Brett.........he was still in pursuit from the right side and had not made it to the play.Brett may (or may not) have been the one that taunted the team and coaching staff after the hit, which was more of a clothesline hit to the chest.....i couldn't see any facemask involved,at all.

Sir, if you couldn't see that facemask, you need glasses.

Yes, I was, thank you for pointing that out to the people here who know football. Its quite obvious to me that you made that remark to try to stir up trouble, so I will not reply to anymore of your childish statements.:flush:
