Boyle County/Pulaski County Scrimmage Results
#1
Boyle 42 - Pulaski 0.

Boyle's offense was slow out of the gate but found some stride and the defense with the exception of a couple of mistakes looked pretty good. Devin Hale, starting QB looked very good in my opinion.

Chain gang took a beating...poor popcorn:biggrin:

Good to hear about the scrimmage. How did Boyle County's defense look?
#4
solid but a little tentative. Just my opinion.

Sounds about right. Oh well. It's always good to find out what your weaknesses are before the first game.

Was the score really 35-0 at the half?

I'd hate to keep asking you questions 64 but did anyone really stand out to you? Maybe even a couple of players?

Yeah it was 35-0. Our new qb looked very comfortable. Chris Cook looks faster than last year and of course Lamar looked fine. Don't remember but 1 dropped pass and backs ran hard. Timing of offense was a little off and OL needs to hold their blocks longer. Soph. Kicker was very straight and def picked a couple of passes. Just need some fine tuning.

Absolutely. I figured they would be a little rusty and off going into the scrimmage.Well, I appreciate the great information. You're a big help.

Sounds like the QB position battle Coach French talked about in the AM article has been decided. Has anyone emerged as the #2QB? Who do they have stepping up as recievers? I wish I could have been there to see this game.

Was Pulaski Co that bad or just over matched?

Casey Whittle took a lot of snaps with the varsity and JV I thought he looked real good.

The O-line seemed to struggle a little at the start however they seemed to play better as the night progressed.

Penalties hurt us some, they had two ot three TD's called back.

Getting by JC friday night will be very important for the success of this team.

I'm sure glad you guys didn't hurt Popcorn. The next time he's on the field I'll call a firefighter friend and get an ambulance on stand by just for him.

Abner went out in the second series with a separated shoulder. Tyler Abney went out early with a knee injury. Eastham played, but was dinged up after hitting his head on the turf.
It looks like all 3 will be ready for the Correll Bowl on the 27th. Justin Cornett is the biggest question mark right now. He has missed the last several weeks with a knee injury.

Good to hear. Did you attend the scrimmage? If so, would you mind giving a input in what you saw from the scrimmage?

Yes, I did see the scrimmage and they did look ok, not like state winners, but we still have several weeks to go. I don't know if Hester will be playing that can sure hurt us if we don't have him on Friday. I know we have at least two maybe three major players already on the injured list.
