Norm Peterson Wrote:Erik Manning of Somerset should be included in the conversation. He is coming off a 14-1 record his first year as a starter. He threw for over 2300 yards and 28 TDs and ran for over 550 yards and 7 mores scores. He has his top 2 receivers back as well.
I would have to agree, with the record Somerset posted last year, Erik would most definitely be in the mix.

I promise, if he was the starting QB at PCC, they would be talking about how great he was on here lol
ur right and IMO i dont think Huff is as good as the PCC crowd is saying...last year at Breathitt they didnt even let him throw the ball they were all running plays....so i hope Haddix is seeing something tht i'm not...considering he tlked him into tranfering to PCC...

Huff didn't start last year for Breathitt when the Haddix boy moved positions. Makes me wonder if he is really ready to step up into the quarterback position, if so why did he leave Breathitt? I wish him luck but it sure is a question to think about.

I think your right when you say those three, I got the pleasure of watching the Trent kid. What impressed me the most is that he has a great arm with the long and short pass....but his ability to move will make him a true threat this year.

And oh yeah to stay on topic kiser from lawrence co. Remember the name or you won't have to you will hear enough from him.

Johnathan Barger at Central is a dual threat to run or pass. He has some experience under his belt now as well. Stay tuned.

althought he is inexperienced, i think sani warren of belfry will turn out to be a team leader for years to come. im curious to see how he'll perform this year as a freshman. regardless, he has the foundation to be one of the best qb's belfry's ever had.

But will Belfry come out of the wish bone? As the saying goes it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks. All I am saying Belfry has run the ball for so many years will the new qb have the chance to throw.hh:

I also think Zach Eastham at Pulaski should be in the conversation. He had a monster year after taking over in week 2. He is a great QB with a big arm and great vision.

he left Breathitt( from my understanding) becuz he would not be the starting QB at Breathitt this year either. the coach believed that Richard Trent is a better QB then he was...i guess we will see this year if he made the right choice.

The whole Kentucky playoff system really isn't fair to district 7 IMO this district never really has home field throughout the playoffs unless upsets happen.

Either way LC isnt going to have a 60 pt turnaround in 1 season with Bell Co's #1 players coming back from last years team that beat you guys 41-0 in 3 quarters.
You guys talked this **** like this last year too. :eyeroll:

Zach Eastham of Pulaski County will definitely be one to watch. In the 11 games he played in last year Eastham threw for 2,197 yds with 24 TDs and only 8 ints. He was the 2nd leading rusher on the team with 915 yrds and 10TDs. Having a full off-season and summer running the Maroon offense, and the fact he has a majority of his weapons back, look for even bigger numbers from him this year. This young man is scary good!

I speak on behalf of the Lawrence Co program when I say we worked our tails off to turn this program around. Unfortunatly all teams have a few people that embarass the program on here.
I can assure you teams like Knox + Bell are very respected by the people in the LC lockerroom. I expect Bell to be ranked 1-2 and Knox 6-7. We have a nice crew coming back too.
Inside our 4 walls we respect everybody and fear nobody. This year is no different. Lots of good teams in our Region this year.

I'm not sure I'd want to live in a world where Belfry wasn't in the bone, it just wouldn't seem right. irateSho  lol

SLHSCard,
I smiled when I read your post. I took it as very complimentary and I agree, Belfry is just a team that needs to line up in that dang tight wishbone and pound. Anything else wouldn't seem right.
I think it says a lot for the Pirate program for people outside of the area to respect that, and as a fan of the program, I want to say thanks for the comment.

tru but can you say he is the best QB in the mountains?

Is Will Thomas Collins at Breathitt Co now. If he is he will be one of the top RB in the mountains this year. He was the back up to Domonique Hayden at LCA. I heard that he was moving to Breathitt Co.

oh he is and he was a beast yesterday in the Breathitt/SV preseason game. but also Trent inpressed me with his arm as well...he was so great with the short/long passes. if a def. gives him time they might be hurting.
