That is what happened when the ran into Bell and Boyle last season. Is Boyle and Johnson Central playing in 2010?

No, thats what happens when you fumble the ball as much as they did at the first of last season. I do believe that they do play boyle. There is no trash talking comming from me. I know you guys are intellingent enough to know when jc did not fumble they moved the ball very well against both teams. Look for a great game this year. Not trash talking ,but at the end of last season this jc team was way diffrent then when they played bell or boyle.

To be the best you got to beat the best. You guys won last year hope for a diffrent out come this year. What dont kill you will make you stronger.

Landser, Amer. Wrote:I am somewhat more familiar with SC than the others mentioned, and I do believe that they will be exciting to watch this coming season. They have a good group of talent returning, e.g., KP, Austin, Avery, BJ, Mikie, Chase, Tyler, and possibly Taylor will see some action in the backfield.

Now, I would like to mention that SC has a very formidable contingent of linemen returning, and without them, the backs would not be very exciting.

Chris Sloan, Channing Smith, Corey Crum, and Taylor Chapman, depending on where he fits into the picture, are some of the young men that will be in the forefront for SC. And there are probably others that I have missed and I apologize for the omission.

I look forward to a good, solid 2010 season for the Cardinals.

chris slone*. yea we should have a great backfield, with all of them runing in the mid 4's in the 40 yard dash, k.p. #10 in the top 100 sophmore running backs in the nation, and all of our linemen being the men that they are will make sum massive holes for them to run threw. im pretty excited for this season cuz its my last at the high school level and plan on giving it my all so i wont look back and say what if, so if u want to see a great backfield jus make ur way to the little town of inez.

Yes, I feel that the SC backfield will be very exciting and interesting to watch this coming season; however, an extremely important equation that plays a part in the success of this talented group are the guys up front.

SC has a veteren line that should pave the way for the backs. And, yes, the excitment is watching the backs "break long ones," but if the line doesn't get their assigned blocks, we do not see the long gains.

I salute the young men in the trenches, and to name a few: Chris Sloan, Channing Smith, Corey Crum, Taylor Chapman, Joe Scott, and hopefully, a few new guys will step up, also.

I know from a very reliable source that the backs certainly appreciate their linemen.

Sheldon Clark will have a successful season and surprise a few people this coming season, I think. We shall soon see.

Lot can be said about back fields here in mts but all had better get use to seeing Perry County Centrals Rankin and Sizemore, they will put up big yards this year with new offense that going to be put in place, they have the size and speed and a O-line that will allow many holes to be opened up,so Sizemore and Rankin will be at the top!!!Go C'dore!!!

I am pleased to see someone else praising the line; they are extremely important. I have yet to see a back run well with absolutely no blocking.

I do, however, believe SC has some very talented backs, and they will rack up substantial yardage this season.

SC is poised to do well in 2010!

No love for lawrence co. But thats ok will get in the end.

Sc has 1 of the best backfields around! kp skyles, mikie moore, avery ray, & tyler oconnor will lead this balanced rushing attack all the way to the state championship this upcoming season

Thats ok DAWGS, use the lack of respect in the weightroom. Keep pumping iron and make 'em talk when it counts.

:please: No mention of Lawrence County returning over 2400 yards. Davenport for Bell is a tremendous back and J.J. Jude is fantastic but L.C.'s duo of Hunter James (1100yds.) & Caleb Bently (700 yds.) will be explosive + a good group Hogs in the trenches = 3000 yards wait and see.
#43
east ridge should have a pretty good back field dalton lewis = 1,200 and patrick casey rushing for 1,200 yards and the qb rushed for over 500 yards and with a good line they could be explosive this season
#44
Hazard -Zack Blanton, Jon Combs and Corey Slone
Sheldon Clark-Austin Stepp, Kristian Skyles, Avery Ray
Belfry- Whoever is back there
JC same as Belfry JJ Jude, JK Hall etc..
Bell County- Madon and Davenport
PCC Kyle Huff, Bryan Rankin

Those are some to name a few.

Thats very easy to do with a WEAK schedule. How many did they have against Bell Co's D? Not flaming but its hard to brag when they played weak teams with weak defenses.

These players had these stats against Bell Co:

Hunter James 21 yards total rushing
Caleb Bentley -7 yards total rushing
#46
Bell Co hands down with Madon, Davenport, Mills, and Hilton.

QB Madon 63 completions out of 107 attempts, ONLY 2 Int's, 1,314 pass yards, 17 TD's
RB Davenport 1,770 rushing, 185 attempts, 29 TD's, (9.56 ypc)
FB Hilton 521 rushing, 68 attempts, 9 TD's, (7.66 ypc)
FB Mills 338 rushing, 35 attempts, 2 TD's, (9.65 ypc)

Whats sick is all these players return for 2010 season!!!!

Johnson Central not only led the state in rushing, they were #1 in the nation with over 6000 yds.!!!

Perry Centrals Bryan Rankin should have a good year.

Lexington Hearold Leader + WYMT both made that statement.:dontthink

I agree Bell shut down L.C.'s run game, but they shut down alot of people,so no shame there.Still the fact is James & Bentley both had great years and will continue to do so this year. Against the 2 teams from your district( McCreary & Knox ) James had 197 yds.& 162. So I believe your arguement about weak defences is moot, did Bell not play these same teams? Bell has some terrific talent, cant argue with that, but they are not the only school in the mtn's. that does. Thats all I was trying to say. Thank you.:thanks: I stand by my statement that James & Bentley combined will go over 3000 yards,we shall see.

Can't speak for Bell County but vs. Boyle the Eagles rushed the ball for 44 times and gained 88 yards. I say again: 44 carries, 88 yards.

Fumbles don't factor in a 2.0 rush average.

Boyle's rush defense last year was as good as it gets. (Ask Bell County)

It's a new year this time out and JC may run all over Boyle (doubt it) but the fumbles have nothing to do with a 2.0 rushing average.

Ricky Bobby Wrote:Lexington Hearold Leader + WYMT both made that statement.:dontthink

I think that was true a couple of years ago but they weren't national leaders last year in rushing.

If you want to do the homework, go to 2009 scoreboards and dig up most of the games. To gain 6,000 they would have to have averaged over 500 per game. Since they had only 88 vs. Boyle, I don't think they racked up 6,000 last year. :eyeroll:

DAVENPORT from Bell Co. is the best back in the mountains as a whole back field
i don't know but this kid is really good and young.

Really? So when you fumble repeatedly and recover for big losses, those carries are simply not counted as rushing attempts? That is news to me. Thank you for enlightening me.

Even if what you say is correct, repeated fumbles have a way of keeping a running team from settling into a groove and runners tend to start focusing more on not making mistakes than making big plays.

Johnson Central did not just fumble against the strongest teams on its schedule early last season, the Golden Eagles fumbled against everybody. If they cough the ball up early and often again, it will be a long night. If they hang on to the ball like a veteran backfield should, it will be a much different game than last year.
