in the state of kentucky has dead period while other states play year around.

Without the dead period, some athletes would never get a break to be a kid.

Probably a good idea, as a fan I like it and I think most coaches do. KHSAA didn't put this in though, the schools proposed it and voted it in.

Vacation is needed for all. This will help there body's prepare for the season.

Dead period is a must. No doubt. Players and coaches need a break. If you cant figure it out in 50 weeks of the year those other two weeks are not going to help you.

I don't think it would hurt to extend it for an extra week.
Give these kids a break to get away from sports and enjoy something else for a while.

What dead period? Basketball and baseball have not stopped for one minute. I know they are "travel teams" but they are still HS teams coached by others.
