Whitley County names Jason Chappell Head Coach
TopCat Wrote:They drove to Trimble last year for the easy win, I doubt he will cancel it with them coming to Corbin.

You are probably right, but they should cancel it anyway. I can see no benefit in playing this game last year or this coming year, unless running up the stats for the younger players count.:HitWall:
Whitley paid Boyle $4,000 to buy their way out of a home game.

Wow, pay 4,000 to not have a home game. They must be really scared of Boyle. Are they trying to schedule some teams like Johnson Cent did from Canada

Will get worse beginning in 2015.

I was hoping they'd keep Boyle on the schedule

Oh give me a break with the jabs at Whitley for backing out of the game.
Teams do it every year. If Black were still coach, this game would be played. You cant say Whitley County is scared to play Boyle. We don't it 3 years in a row, and would have this year if it weren't for the new coach. Regardless of what anyone has said, Whitley has played the hardest schedule in EKY for the last 5 or 6 years in a row, and its come of no benefit. They've been drubbed and injured throughout the whole season just like last year.
Until they get the numbers back up, it makes since to drop it. We were missing out entire backfield for half the year last year due to injuries.

Personally, I would have played it to finish out the contract then dropped it, but its the guys first year. He wants fast success and its going to look better playing someone of the same talent than to play Boyle and get beat to death again. If he is successful at getting good numbers out, I would love to see the series continue.

Not to mention im sure the Boyle fans would much rather have a better game to prepare them for the playoffs. Whitley hasn't been able to do that with the past 3 years weve had.

Have you called Lynn Camp?
Shouldnt the current adm consider how hard of a spot the teams they dropped are put in. Im sure its not easy finding a team in need of a 1 yr deal this late in the season. Are they also buying out Bell, Knox and Mad Southern?
E's Army Wrote:Have you called Lynn Camp?

Yes, they have called.
WOW! The new coach comes in and starts changing the schedule because its to hard. What is that telling the players? They aren't good enough to play those teams or is it because playing a easier schedule will get more players out. Does anyone know who will be on the schedule?
I've heard that Whitley has hired Dave Mitchell as an assistant?? Has anyone else heard about that?? If so I think he will be good for the program!! He wasn't the best head coach but I believe he will do well as assistant. He was at perry central last year, I figured he would try and get closer to home. I think he will get kids to come out and play also he has a good relationship with the kids.
footballfever Wrote:What will get worse?

The schedule will get weaker and weaker.
Who are they trying to schedule. If you schedule to weak I think it just as bad or worse than scheduling to hard.
I heard that they picked up Pike County Central and looking for another. Want to play Corbin or Williamsburg. Will either play? Calls have been made. Will pay to play them.

Pike county central that's not good for Whitley. :please: Williamsburg if they call play Whitley :Cheerlead
I have to diagree PCC will be a good match up for them. Williamsburg has turned the offer down , so has Corbin. WHY???/

Who is on Whitley's coaching staff?

Corbin's schedule is already full. I'm sure that Williamsburg would play them if both have the same week open.

Pjdoug I will introduced you to the Williamsburg coaching staff come over join the ride :bike::bike::bike:

All of this talk of you wanting to play us and the call was made and you said no.

I guess we see...

No, its not his job to worry about other schools "hard place".

The other games are still on as far as I know.
E's Army Wrote:Have you called Lynn Camp?

I bet Chappell would, but Lynn Camps the one that ended it. Personally, I don't ever want to see Whitley schedule a weak 1A school, and im happy Russell at LC quit the series.
RunItUpTheGut Wrote:No, its not his job to worry about other schools "hard place".

Its called common courtesy and something called a contract. If you sign it you should abide by it.

A coach loses a lot of respect from this kind of thing.
