I do agree that belfry has one of the best feeders that I've seen.. Giving them constant talent.. Unlike my team cards.. Were some very good talent moves to other places.. Such as jj Jude and chase Maynard .. There are more but just proving a point... And now that louiville central is gone from 3a ... Who belfry could have beaten b4... It is open to mountain teams.. I think everyone knows that they have unreal talent .. They play close to 6a schools .. Some nationally ranked.. It says a lot about the competion in Ky

I've been following Eastern KY HS football for four years now , and Belfry has been very good. And looking back further, I find that they have had extremely good teams over the years.
The fact that they have had a good feeder system, great coaching, and tradition, makes them a formidable obstacle each and every football season.
The District in 2011 is a tough one, and Belfry would have to be the favorite going in. However, as has been stated on this forum many times, anything can happen on a given Friday night. Therefore, I would definitely not count out Pike Central or Lawrence County.
Based upon what I read, Pike Central should be extremely good this year (2011) and may give Belfry a run for their money.
We have about ninety days until we will start seeing what is this is going transpire. I'm ready!

Correction: This should have read, We have about ninety days until we will start seeing what is going to transpire. I'm ready. Some times my proofing of my own writing is not adequate. Anyone else have that problem? Thanks!

They are a scary good team.. But like everyone that has played them,.. The can be beaten by a 3A team... The first time belfry played them in the championship the last sec b4 half time interception turned the momentum and they never recovered.. Just need to work on focusing on the play at hand.. It's hard but u need to master this skill to beat them

Seems like each year Belfry has had a freshman step up and contribute. Gary Runyon, Payton Mullins, Sani Warren. Will there be another this year or is there depth at all positions so there won't be a chance? The two incoming freshman I know the most about are both family members of current Pirate starters. Drew Mullins is a thick kid and Payton's brother, and Austin Hatfield has natural strength. Believe I heard he was benching 190 multiple times, he is a cousin of Josh Dixon.
Also, I believe three kids from West Virginia officially moved to Belfry this week and I know for a fact two of them are football players.

I have read your stuff on other threads and you are a hater so this must mean that when you played we kicked your butt or you wouldn't hate Belfry so much.irateShoirateShoirateShoirateSho

I think that Belfry has a good chance of going to state this year. I think they have one of the best teams that we have seen in the last few years. I think Tuffy will step up and be one of the leaders of this team. We have a lot of talent coming back this year and hopefully we will have the dedication and hard work that we had last year. I think this year will be Belfrys year to shine.

Tuffy Willis is a MAN ... He is the strongest most athletic kid ive ever met. he will def be one of the best lineman to ever come out of belfry.

Tuffy is very strong, but with all the talent present, he could end up on the sideline

Let's get to what matters boys!
There's a halfback spot, a receiver spot, and two o-line spots on offense empty due to graduation and 3 defensive line spots, and a defensive back spot open... who do you think's gonna step up?

I remember last year many Belfry fans claiming it would be a "down year." So much for that, as the team made an excellent playoff run. Belfry is a force every year, but they have some classes coming up that are just downright good. As always, they will be a contender and exciting to watch.

when do they start getting after it,2nd wk in july?

Usually around the week of my birthday (July 28th) .. I really wish we'd fill that Pike County Bowl spot. I just want to know who to expect. I say we call up Mingo Central, tell Yogi to drop whoever he's got that week. Haha.
