Seems the only game you guys can recall is the one you were actually close in! Lets not recall that OTHER one!

That first one was just a straight up butt kicking. That game was over after the first snap. I think we were still reeling from the loss to Fairview the week before and honestly they played scared in that game. I think that game did them some good though because those players had never really experienced a beat down like that before and it was a very humbling experience that carried on for the rest of the season and they still remember it now. A lot of negative things have been said about last year's team but the way they responded to that loss really showed a lot about the character of our boys.

If Raceland is Physical and able to stop Phelps sweep left and Phelps sweep right they win without a doubt.

Certain group of kids were being fed a bunch of bs from there parents and it was a issue all year but really came out after getting beat by Fairview then laying down against paintsvile , the play that just sticks in my head during that game was the slant pass from kash to Trimble and the senior was defending Trimble just stood there didn't try to stop it didn't try to tackle him didn't even run after him when he caught the ball that is flat out quitting on your team . After that game the seniors realized this was it and starting playing for their high school life they beat Russell , beat bishop Brossart and out played paitsville but didn't win . The entire year you had a group of parents constantly bad mouthing kids , coaches my son should get the ball more , my son should be the QB my son is better than this kid and kids bought into it and it showed up all year . And they are the same ones doing it this year but from a distance bc their kids are gone . This years success has a lot to do with attitude , work , taking care of business on the field not thinking teams will just lay down bc of what's on the front of their jerseys , doing what's best for the team not what the parents think their kids should play .

You're more than welcome to get on KHSAA.ORG and look at the region results if ya want. Phelps' 200 time was faster. And you didn't say Raceland can match our speed, you said Raceland was faster at every position.

This Oline has come around very nicely. If I recall everyone said we would take our lumps early in the season with the inexperience up front. This inexperienced Oline paved the way for 350 yards on the ground against the defending Class A State Champions in week 3. Their fans said the same stuff you are saying.

Post #86: Now granted, the RAMS will have to tackle, protect the corners & not get sucked in on sweeps and long pass plays, but you're not going to outrun our DB's in a one on one foot race.
Post #113 Is where I said we could match your speed.
Obviously you don't remember my posts. I did NOT say they were faster at every position. I said they (Paintsville) wouldn't outrun our DB's in a one-on-one footrace. Re-read posts #86 & #113 & get your facts straight.
And I was at the Regional Track Meet & saw every race. Phelps finished 4th in the 100 & 200 Meter Dashes.

I didn't say Phelps won, I said his time was faster than Walkers in the 200.

I realize that but I was referring to the speed issue. You were wrong about what I said.
Regardless, none of this (or that) matters. We will see in two weeks who wins, & then again in the possible (& likely) rematch.
And I'm not Blaze, I'm Slic Ric...WHOOOO!!! Apology accepted Big Red.

Totally agree. Just hope everyone is healthy on both teams in two weeks. Gonna be an exciting game. Always better when your competition brings out the best in you.

Id like to see our "all district" team line up and actually play a game. Phelps/Walker/Ruggles at RB? Davidson at QB, Morris/Cherry/Webb/Allen at WR, then put the OL/DL guys names in a hat and pick your poison. Plus the McIntyre and Ruggles kid from Fairview. We have to have the most tallent of any district in class A. Good football breeds good football. The better and more competitive the district is, the better off we all are as a whole. Looking foward to this match up, but first, I have to grab some Eagle wings this friday.
