Talking a friend into letting his son play football. Will be in 5th grade. Anyone know about sign ups for that age level?
07-14-2014, 07:52 PM
I wish that I could help you there. I do like watching boys that age play. They are all in it for fun.

Who gives a flip Eastern Kentucky football is terrible. Terrible coaches, administrators care less about sports, and parents think kids are D1 players wow!

Easy now nascar, that's a pretty broad statement. Some pretty good teams in the mountains but granted not all are powers but that goes for the whole state in general.

good luck to the rams

Saw it in the paper and confirmed today that Raceland does indeed have more thsn 60 kids out this hear. Im sure that number has a chace of dwindling by seasons end, but you have to be optomistic. The more kids that come out, the more options you have to choose from in puting the best kids on the field. The roster, per khsaa.com, only has last year's turnover, which stood at 40. That means 20+ freshman or new faces have come out. Glad to hear that the cupboard continues to be restocked. 7 on 7 is this weekend and includes Raceland as the host team. Other teams are:
Russell, Ashland, Ironton, West and East Carter, Flemming County, and seceral ofher shools from NEKY and SEOH. Lookin foward to seeing some football this weekend.

The next 2 years you will have a Mr. Football candidate playing in this part of the state and he is definitely a D1 player.

I don't believe anything has been said to me (not that I'm all that important) that Russell is attending Racelands 7 on 7 this year.
07-16-2014, 11:13 PM
I was told they were by a credible source, but that source could have been miss informed.
07-17-2014, 08:06 AM
You could be right. Could be just taking a handful of kids because most the kids I've talked to are saying they have this weekend off because coaches may be out of town.

Yall have more kids out then our newly 2a rated Cards.

Good Luck Raceland hope You have a Great Season. Will be rooting for you in all but one game this year.

I think if they go to the store and buy some bug spray, they could beat them pesky orange jackets in November.

There is A place for nascar, some people like sex, some people sex and football and others like cars and sockerballs.

Topnotch, you are starting to sound like 64. Do they teach English in the burg.

Ive got a feeling Raceland has made the improvements over the offseason to remain right in the thick of it all. Their line is smaller, but is just as strong, but faster ALOT faster. Some dept has come into play as well. Messer, Dixon, and Young look to be apart of a very very good defensive backfield and be key parts in the passing game as well. Im really looking foward to the season. This will be an interesting year for the Rams, I for one, expect them to accomplish more than last year and actually make it to Bowling Green. Something about this team has me feeling the opposite of what 08 did. I knew 08 would slip up and they did. This team is already being sold short because of the line, something that the sophomore class has always been able to rise above. Very smart football team to go aling with the same strength and more speed as last year. Lets go Rams!
07-17-2014, 08:46 PM
I hope we are there to greet them.

Single A ball is about guts. Not saying that the bigger schools dont have heart but how many quarterbacks play free safety in 4-6a? U think the Brian Brohms, Drew Barker or Houlistens are ligning up to play CB, FS, or SS? Let me introduce to you Conner Messer, Josh Young, Maverik Dixon, Isaiah King, Michael Rose-Creekmore, Isiah Griffith, Corey Shelton, and Jefferson Patrick, Brandon Jones and Many many more skill/DB/LB. guys going both ways. Some playing on both sides of the ball on each special teams squad. How about the Isaac Wallace, Chris Helton, Lucas Bradley, Anthony Roark, and Cody McPeek type kids. Guys who way at, around, or over 300 lbs, playing on both offensive and defensive lines. Some of theses kids play every snap/kickoff of every game, all season long.
In no way did I intentionally single out or forget anyone, I just went by names that I have had the pleasure of and personally seen PLAY THEIR ASSES OFF, with toughness, fortitude, honor, pride, class and respect. Csnt stand it when people dawg little old single A. You'll find more heart and soul in Fulton County, Phelps, Nicholas County, and the other typical schools who struggle week in and week out to get a win, than on any Trinity, Highlands, or Bowling Green state champioship roster.
Nit saying the bigger classes dont play with pride and heart, all i am saying is dont shootdown these kids. Many of us talk smack, many of us go to far, but for people to get on here and throw two or three scentences together to try and cut down these kids it really bothers me.
I cant immagine how many grammar or syntax errors there are in this post and quite frankly, idc. Carry on. Im off my soap box now.

NASCAR sucks! An overrated sport (which to me isn't a sport) a bunch of idiots driving around in circles. I can see why and how you chose your name.:eyeroll:

Listen I'm not trying to be a prick I'm just giving my opinion. Just like you guys are giving me your opinions. Overall other than few schools kentucky HS football is very weak. When you look at the majority of other states, single A is a powerhouse Scotty? I'm not gonna convince you guys of anything but I have my opinions too. NASCAR is a great event to watch. Good luck to the all the teams and the watered down 6 classifications.

Who's your team, troll? Obviously it isn't anyone in Single A, not even sure if it's anyone in the state of Kentucky, and if so, why are you even on this board trolling? Get a life and move one.
BTW, NASCAR is nothing but a shell of what it was back in the day.

I don't think the '08 team "slipped" up, they aren't the ones that let up on the throttle in the second half. I find it a bit disrespectful that you would say something like that.
