Sheldon Clark @ Russell 11/6
Midee1 Wrote:I would almost believe that. I was above you on TOP of the pressbox for that game. At least you had some walls to knock the wind off of you in that old cinderblock pressbox.
You should have come down there with us. We had the only dedicated phone line available to broadcast from for Belfry, and another radio station showed up to cover the Pirates. They ended up passing a cell phone back and forth to do the game and they froze to death as well.
bucslover68 Wrote:Are you sure Belfry knew they were doing that?:igiveup:They went through a stage where they sprinted on the field and ended up at midfield jumping around. It would not be very smart to give Russell any extra incentive in a game against the Pirates.:dontthink Actually GOREDDEVILS, if you remember how cold it was that night, they were just jumping around trying to stay warm.
Oh I remember how cold it was, and It was a good thing I had a Russell pad or my butt would have been frozen solid on the metal seating.
Me too if they have a rematch with all the players in good health belfry might just be surprised seen they are so pumped up love to see a rematch between both teams.Iwould go for the CARDS.
i have thought about this game all week and this is what i think about it. SC's strength is running the ball up the gut. they are very strong up front but their backs dont have the best of speed so you dont have to worry about them breaking out to the outside if you have quick corners. also they go to shotgun when they think they can expose you through the air. most of the time its 5 wide ever once in a while they will stick a halfback in the backfield and and run trips on one side. the key to defending their shotgun is bringing the heat. their o line is really strong but not smart at all. show 7 or 8 blitzing and bring 6 and drop everybody else back and i promise you will give sc qb and their o line fits. sc has had tons of holding calls when they drop back in shotgun and their qb is ok when he gets time to throw and the d only rushes 3 or 4 but when you get heat on him he makes bad decisons. not so much throwing picks but he stops looking down field and just trys to find a way to get out of the pocket and not get hit. his not fast but he is strong so wrap him up but all of sc players that will have the ball in their hands are strong so you have to wrap up. cody slone #12 is very good on d. if you make a mistake and throw a bad pass to him he will make you pay buy getting a pick. he is also one of their best WR. if russell does these things they will win and it will be like the belfry game because when sc gets down they lose their cool specially some of the vets on the team and try to fight and forget their in a football game. if russell dosnt expose the weakness of sc which is most of what i wrote then sc will win by a couple of td's. the key to beating sc is playing your game not theres because once you get them out of their gameplan its over.
goodluck to both and may the best team win.....
oh and another thing watch for a trick play by sc. Hager is smart and dont show none of these plays during the season and saves them until playoff time. if i am not mistaking he ran one the first play of the game last year against pike central in the playoffs. so always be ready for everything. really be ready at the first play of the game because thats when he likes to do it. or first play after halftime.
If Russell comes out fired up like they did in the first part of the year then I see Russell winning, BUT if they come out like they have the last 3 or 4 games then SC will just make them look really bad. I just hope someone finally lit a fire under their butt's and kind of get that swagger back into their system.
Temperature looks to be around 46 about game time then getting down to 43 near the end of the game. It looks to be clear for tonight as well.

I would really love to know what your problem is. You say you are a former player of Hager's and a Cardinal fan, you sure don't act like it. I think you just love to start trouble.

I didn't see anything wrong with his post.
I just hope SC can play a smashmouth football game and take it to the Devils, so it will end the season for the Devils, and they can quit harping about their coach, who put Russell football on the map, my how they forget, when they are winning, they are all on the band wagon, when they lose and don't have success, it's like mice leaving a sinking ship, good luck Devils, you will need it.

:argue: No band wagon fan here I follow the devils each and every season and have since the early 1990s when I was in grade school. I think you're jealous that Russell at least has some success. I hope Greenup County gets pounded 56 to 0. Like Mark Maynard said the Bells will be ringing in Bell County

What I meant by no bandwagon is I'm never off the bandwagon. I'm A loyal Devil fan all sports girls and and boys and a Russell alumni.

Please don't lump us all into that same catagory. There are a few that are very vocal about some really silly things. Most of us do have some sense about us though.

Thanks for your support and maybe this time GC will be able to keep a coach for more than 2 or 3 years before they run him off. But I doubt it.
I hope SC is at full strength now so that finally it will be decided if they are contenders or pretenders
Good luck to Russell. (see not all of us GC fans are so bad)
Russell 14-13 over SC

no problem at all and yes i used to play for hager and never said i still didnt lol. there was nothing wrong with that post. i gave my opinion on the game. if russell exposes what i said then i think they will win if they dont i think sc will win. how did that start trouble. the only way it would start trouble is you getting on here and saying my post is wrong. my post is all facts beside the pike central thing i just really cant remember if we did a trick play that game. so that might be wrong i am sorry.
i hear people at the school right now saying oh that guy is trying to tell russell our gameplan and all that junk and if we get beat its his fault. well with a stupid attitude like that we will get beat.
If SC gets beat based on what a poster puts on here then they have much bigger problems to address.....
EKUAlum05 Wrote:If SC gets beat based on what a poster puts on here then they have much bigger problems to address.....

thank you eku i mean its not like i wrote the gameplan on here. they just try to find reasons to blame a loss on and they havent even played the game yet!!
Russell will run the wing t on offense and a five man front on defense. There now if Russell gets beat it's my fault.
Yea, I really doubt that Shawn is on BGR trying to figure out the gameplan. If he is, then the Cards have a lot of problems. Some years, however, I have wondered if some of his calls and stunts have come off the inter......Nah, not gonna go there, j/k.
its not like these players hasnt seen everything their appointent is going to do and all the formations.
ITS CALLED FILM CARDINAL MOM!!!
i think sheldon clark will have this one in the bag. both teams are 6-4 and sheldon clark has a overall better team then rusell soo GOOD LUCK CARDS!!!!:thatsfunn:rockon::ChairHit::Thumbs:
I most certainly hope SC fields a team tonight like the one that played Breathit County, Lawrence County, and Johnson Central. Moreover, I would hope SC has 97% of its starters, offensively and defensively. The foregoing having been said, I think SC can come away with the W. But, we shall see, for games are won and lost on the field.

Additionally, SC must not give Belfry one minuscule thought until after the Russell game. For should they be fortunate enough to get the win, then, and only then should they be concerned about preparing for Belfry.

I am throwing in my two cents worth, and it worth exactly nothing; it is, however, just my opinion. Games are won and lost on the field.

As I am sure anyone can determine, I am a SC fan and wish them the best for tonight's game. Also an injury free game for both SC & Russell.

Go powder your nose Kosar.
GOREDDEVILS Wrote:I didn't see anything wrong with his post.

I don't either.....it's not like what he is saying will have any bearing on the game. Some of the coaches read this junk but, surely they wouldn't base their game plans on what somebody says on the internet.
FBALL Wrote:Russell will run the wing t on offense and a five man front on defense. There now if Russell gets beat it's my fault.

FINALLY!!!! You admit it. I've been saying it's your fault the entire season.
Devils need to play a good first half, if they are close they can rattle the Cards. IVAN might control this game if he can get first downs early.
I will pick the Cardinals all the way tonight for a win GO CARDS.
Obama called & said GET FIRED UP!
