Knott County Central 56 Perry County Central 51
And for the record...
I have been to EVERY big game in John C. Combs arena since back when I was at AB Combs Elementary.

I have NEVER seen that many people in there.
I got to the game 10 minutes before the tip and the only way I had a seat was to squeeze into the top of the pep section.

Every section was full and people were doubled up along the rails.
^ I stood along the rails and didn't move.
I got there at the end of the first game. Had to scout out a place to stand and when someone moved, I moved in like a vulture to steal their spot. LOL

It was bad for me to stand behind the pep section.
Took me back about 10 years.
I think I scared some kids.
This was a good game that's for sure
I had a decent seat, but I arrived 45 minutes before the 1st game started. When everybody arrived there was no leaving to go to the bathroom or nothing.
I think PCC seats 4500 and w/ standing room there has been a little over 5000 at a PCC/HHS game once. Not sure about that though.

I guarantee there was not ONE KCC fan that stated "Knott got some help".

You should be ashamed to claim to be a coach and then blame officials because a team got beat!!! Probably why your not still coaching you biddy league team!!!

By the way, and I'm gonna go ahead and speak for most on this board, we don't give a rat's a$$ what central Ky think about the mountain teams!!! KCC and PCC would both probably win the 10th and 11th regions this year!!!

I'm sure KCC doesn't need or want your support!!!

Sorry for touching a soft spot...

Perry turned the ball over in crucial times and they missed both front ends of 1 and 1. They had two chances to get it done.

With that said if you don't think a 17-3 foul advantage didn't have an impact on the game you are NUTS. If the Hall obvious charge turned block didn't change the momentum of this game you are NUTS.

I love mountain basketball more than any other area in this state and I respect it a ton. I don't need a fan questioning me on my own thoughts of what I see. Having coached I know how officiating works and I know how it works in the mountains. Knott is a very talented team and I've never said any different. I like watching those kids play and I will support them if they win the 14th. I'm also aware of how protected they are and so do countless other people. Just because they don't post on here doesn't mean a thing and I could care less about what you have to say. I click on these boxes and express how I feel and you do the same.
My thoughts on this game:

1. I was about to run Justice, BB, and the whole KCC coaching staff a box of tissues for all of the crying and whining they were putting up until the 4th quarter started. This leads into my second comment.

2. This game was well called except for when it really mattered. There were three huge calls that affected the outcome of this game. The Patriots can once again thank the guys in stripes.

3. However, PCC did have players on the floor at a crucial time that killed them.

4. Not very good sportsmanship when a KCC coach yells out, "He's faking," after an official timeout needed to be called for Johnson.

All in all an entertaining game to watch.

Until next time,

^ be ready to be bashed after those comments but I agree!
Sounds like a few on here needs a box of tissues.. Just saying...
If you can't handle the ball against a half court trap with a 9 point lead with less than 4min to go, then you can't complain about the refs
Warthog....read number 3 in my post before you offer up your two cents worth on my thoughts!
Last time I checked, refs don't score points...

I seen that too but Im like surely I didnt hear that from a coach. SMH...I believe his name is Eric Mullins.
I agree with some of the calls were questionable but PCC simply chocked the game away. Three straight turnovers and missed free throws. Who knows even with those calls if BB or Toomer makes those 1-n-1s PCC may have won.
There was one call in particular in the 1st half where JJ caught the ball in the paint spun, stopped, lowered his shoulder into Hall then put the ball in and they called a blocking foul on hall and JJ shot the and one. A blind man could of made that call. But it sounds like not had help. Lol jmo.
they should of won because they are the better team, just goes to show everyone that the best team (PCC) aint gonna be in the Sweet 16!!!!
^ not true
Stlcardsfan Wrote:^ not true

"best team" is very subjective :eyeroll:
PCC was one and done, please don't discuss them as the best team this season..it's over and done with...The PCC fans can only root for Hazard now or WYMT,wsgs, and a few others might be on suicide watch as all of Perry Co is eliminated.. I love it. GO BOBCATS!
Lol... SMDH..... Pizza guy,, have a Snickers,, you're not you when you're hungry.. Don't be that hungry guy..
Anyone complaining about Justice getting calls knows nothing about basketball. Of course he shoots foul shots, he's the best and most proven player in the region and is ungaurdable if he is shooting well. Justin Johnson gets calls, so does Chris Hudson and Braxton Beverly. Good players get favorable calls because they are better than average and therefore harder to stop. I would like to see Cordia have another shot at KCC but Hazard is almost impossible to beat 3 times. Should be a great game.
BrokenArrow Wrote:Shannon had nothing to do with ur players missing free throws. U make those front ends it changes the course of the game. I would not blame this on coaching. Its choking not coaching.

No Shannon has alot to do with it. They have been horrible at fts all year. Any coach would have had them shooting tons of them every single practice. So yes it dose have alot to do with Shannon.
Practice free throws sometimes don't carry over to live game time. Ask anyone that's saw UK practice. They never miss in practice,, any of them. It's all mental. You can practice a thousand a day,, then shoot poorly on game day. Coach can't help that.
you cant make free throws you cant win and dont deserve too. Congrates to Knott Central. They wanted it more.
zaga_fan Wrote:"best team" is very subjective :eyeroll:

I agree...and it's not PCC
Midnight rider is a crybaby. Plain and simple - "Camron Justice is the best clutch player I have ever seen. Knott is made up of a bunch of guys that simply refuse to lose. Give them credit--- their two comebacks in the last two games were incredible. Iit wasn't the refs, it wasn't anything other than guts, hard play, and determination that won the games for knott .Quit your belly aching and whining and just give a great bunch of kids the credit they deserve. They are the defending 14th region champs and until someone beats them--give them and their coaches the credit they deserve.

D Rock there are bad calls in every game. Teams can not control that, but they can control ball possession and free throw percentage.

Good season PCC

Wow! Looks like the scoreboard was off. At halftime it read PCC 8 fouls and KCC 5. Knott had 9 fouls in the second half for a total of 14 fouls for the game. I'm going to guess Perry had around 20 for the game...
I counted 52 illegal screens made by kcc. And the two fouls on Beverly were terrible. Justice had him arm fully extended on both calls. And for someone on here who said referees can't score points are crazy. Probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard
