It's not rained enough in central ky.the last 2 weeks to make a football field look like that.there appears to be water standing on the field.:eyeroll:

that pics not from rocks field
I surely hope not. It's for sure not Boyle's field we have turf.I would think Rock would have more class than to water the field down, but i guess we'll find out for sure friday night.
^Remember we have people attesting to it raining in Rockcastle several times this week. Remember, as I said before BOTH teams play on the SAME field. I don't care if RCHS poured sand on the field, Boyle and Rock both have to play on it.

BTW- How did the principal get an alleged picture of Rock's field? That almost seems spy-gate worthy :pondering:

Great post on the first part.

That's why I said, "either way, it doesn't matter".

Game is 25 hours away. Good luck to both teams.
Boyle just needs to hold on to the ball,if they do that, they will move on to the next round,if not could be going home to stay. But I believe Boyle will do a better job this time around,Boyle 35,Rock 14.GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For a game with a point spread of 20. This one sure has been a joy to debate and discuss. Remember ladies and gentlemen, Rock is a 20-point underdog according to BGR spreads.

I don't care how many people attest to it raining in Mt.vernon this week i watch the weather 3 times a day,and i have kept up with your weather this week, and it's not rained that much in Mt.Vernon.
I took a picture of the field today; the whole field. It is not bad. I'll post later tonight. It is muddy from one side of the 35 to the 50 and between the hashes on that same area. The picture posted must have been took about 2 feet from the ground right on the 50. Once again, that is not an accurate depiction of the whole field, only about 20 yards inside the hashes.

So what are you saying? Your alma mater's principal has already had his theory shot down, what's yours? The principal's "proof" was a picture of a muddy area with no proof as to whether that was in Danville, Junction City, Mt. Vernon or New York City. A poster put a picture up of the field between the 30's. That is where most football is played anyway.

Boyle is 20 point favor so why Boyle complaining about the feild

I'm saying it's not rained enough for the field to have water standing on it.DUH!!!I didn't accuse Rock of doing anything, but if the field has been waterd down it's inexcusable and completely classless.:ChairHit:
sorry we dont have turf. we play on real grass the way it supposed to be played on.
Ummm MSU just because he went with Lamar or Zack doesn't mean he was taking visits for him self he was just going to see the campu. I've seen Rocks QB and he would be starting over your alps QB if he was at Boyle. Any one can get letters but he isn't and will never be a division 1 qb. That kid is the most inaccurate QB Boyle has seen in years. Even Boyle fans want him benched. If he was that good you all would still be in the spread because your alls receivers are good route runners and get open he just can't get them the ball.

You have no ideal what your talking about.over the last 6 games whittle has been great.his stats speak for themselves.Rocks QB has thrown 6 td passes, and 9 interceptions this season.just because you don't like Boyle don't get on here and tell lies and try to discredit a fine young man like Casey.over the past 6 games he's completed 61 out of 102 passes for 891 yds.8 TD'S and 1 interception, need i say more.:ChairHit:

I'm not a big fan of turf either, but before we got turf we kept our field covered with a tarp when we knew it was gonna rain, and tried to keep it in the best shape possible.I can't see why any school wouldn't try to do things to take care of thier field.unless they thought they would have an advantage from a muddy field.
How does any team gain an advantage from a sloppy feild?
rustyankle Wrote:How does any team gain an advantage from a sloppy feild?

I think a team that has more size with a power running game would have an advantage over a smaller quicker team with more of a run and shoot offense. I would think thats a no brainer.

Jack, I would agree a little but we all can agree that FOOTBALL is a game of leverage and if the smaller/quicker team gets off the ball and hits the bigger slower opppnent in the mouth before they get started than the advantage would flip.
Just drove to pulaski and on the way down 461 through Mt. Vernon, it was drizzling water, looks like a storm passed by last night.

from comparing rosters Boyle is the bigger team
Good Grief. All of this talk about the field is getting old.

For certain:
1. Football games are played equally because no matter what, both teams play on the same field.
2. With the frosts we have had the grass is pretty much dead on that field...I personally walked out on it before the game last Friday and there was no life in that field except for weeds here and there.
3. It DID rain Wednesday when I walked into the hospital because a maintenence guy was trying to drain the fountain before the rain came at the hospital and the cold came this weekend and he didn't make it and it was 2:30 when he came in and laughed saying he almost had gotten finished. It was raining at 5:30pm when I went home on I-75 to Berea still and was raining when I got home at 6 because I had to fix supper for the boys and I looked at the clock to figure when they would be home.
4. That field looked like a pizza that had been turned upside down in a box and shook by the end of the game Friday and since it isn't growing....it isn't healing so any water applied will just soak up like a sponge and sit.
5. The Boyle coaches ought to know exactly how much rain has happened as well as watering that is going on if it is because one of thier own coaches is a gym teacher at the Rockcastle middle school where the field is located. All he has to do is walk over the hill to the field morning or evening. (this might be the spy perhaps??Naw...couldn't be)
6. And most importantly.....If Boyle didn't wanna play in the mud, but, on carpet where their white jerseys are going to get dirty tonight whether they win or not....they should have beaten LexCath, so LexCath could be the ones on here complaining.

My kids stopped by the field after practice yesterday (Thursday) and said it was a little soft (which it is gonna be after last weeks game) but it wasn't sloppy. If we get rain today, it will be a soup pit.
My boys also told me that Boyle's coaches want to be allowed to wear their black home jerseys tonight so they wouldn't get them stained up in the mud and are raising more hell than a pet monkey over all of the accusations listed above. Come on people....get real...it's football. Surely you all haven't been on the rug that long that you can't see that. You are supposed to beat Rockcastle easily anyhow. Let's just play the game.

Amen and no way should they wear the home jerseys only ROCK wears the home jersey let the whites get stained god knows ours are stained
I read through these threads about every week and I have never heard the Boyle Co. faithful go on like this. They sound like PCC fans. I would think that being favored by 20 they would not be as scared of Rock as they seem to be. Rock has never beaten Boyle and yet all kinds of accusations and petty crying games just keep coming. Both teams play the same game on the same field and the one with the most points wins, it isn't always the best team (ask Russell Co.). I shutter to even think how much crying will be going on if they were to come up short in this game. Have a little class. The game hasn't even started yet, but I'm sure the officiating will be next.
Game Day!!!

For the record, not all of us Boyle fans have whined or cried about it.
Coaches ploy to get them fired up. Larry French would never request to wear a certain jersey because he was afraid of getting the other ones dirty. Told him about this last night and he laughed. Not worried about the field just ready to get to the game. Good luck to all traveling and that nobody gets hurt.
BTW I think Mr. Begley is having a little fun at everyone's expense.

haha, thanks for the laugh. I'm honestly disappointed in myself for letting your first couple of posts get to me. I'll gladly debate on here with an educated, sensable football fan. So there is no use debating with you anymore. I kinda wonder if he like stole your girlfriend or something one time and that's why you hate him. Or maybe you're dinky high school team couldn't beat Boyle and so you just hate on everyone there. I shouldn't have even brought up the college thing, though you are mistaken in your statements, and I'll leave it at that. Look, I guarantee you Whittle couldn't care less what you or anyone else think of him. He doesn't have to and won't defend himself to you or anyone else, and neither do I have to defend him. If you'd ask him the only people he plays for are his teammates and Jesus. His stats however good or bad (frankly they've been very good of late) mean nothing to him or the fans as long as the team is winning. So let's stop debating about how good or bad an individual is and talk about the game and teams as wholes. After all teams win and lose football games, not individuals.

Can't wait for tonight! Go Rebs!
It is always the same. The people with the class step up and apologize for the attention getters. I shouldn't have wrote all the Boyle Co. faithful, I should have said the previous posters on this thread. I know there are good and bad fans in each fanbase and I would certainly want everybody to support these kids as they give it their all and try to bring the state title back to their school. Good luck to both teams and may the team that wants it more and goes and gets it done on the field win. I love nothing more than to see the teams from this area win, especially when they play the northern teams.
