Highlands/Boyle Co. Predictions
Boyle has some unknowns how will the offense be cox is a stud but who else is ready to lead its at boyle so i think they keep it close but towles will lead a drive to win it im thinking 38-35 or 31-28 this in my opinion will be one of the best games of the year

So how do you think they are going to do, now that the scrimmage is over?

Same as what I thought before....

Boyle County-24

Highlands-21

I think the Defense is going to be very good agianst 4A competition. If you listened to the game tonight, trinity played short field all first half and did not score easy. D backs looked good in coverage and Bruns is going to be a force. I think the O sounded sluggish, but seemed like they ran very limited offense ( only a couple running plays in first half, think they were trying to give new O linemen alot of pass blocking practice).Top 2 WR also did not play, but expect to see them next Friday. Special teams seemed to struggle; hope they play better next week. I expect them to still be rusty next week, but think they win by 14.
^ Who are the DB's for for the Birds?
Did anyone ever figure out if they were putting in extra seating or not? I'm not sure I'm getting there overly early.

I look for Boyle to keep it relatively close and for Highlands to win 21-17.

I hope I'm wrong, though, and Boyle wins. They do have a winning record against Highlands I believe.
^ When was the last time they played?
Highlands by 5 TD's.
Stardust Wrote:^ When was the last time they played?

4 meeting between these 2 schools.

September 19th. 2003 @ Boyle
Boyle County 22 Highlands 21

December 6th. 2003 KHSAA State Championship Game
Boyle County 44 Highlands 10

September 17th. 2004 @ Highlands
Highlands won, Highlands Forfeit, and got the win back last year

December 4th. 2004 KHSAA State Championship Game
Highlands 22 Boyle County 6
I think the big question mark for Boyle will be the linebacking group. They lost a lot last year and this is key to controlling a good QB.

If this was the Vegas odds, it'd be a no brainer to bet on Boyle with a 5 td spread. Easy money

I'd bet the farm on Boyle if the spread was 5 tds, and I am a Highlands alum.

But if he meant 5 points, that is a different matter altogether.

My guess is Highlands by 24-21.
Highlands 37
Boyle 22

I think you're gonna be very suprised come friday night.
This could be a rematch of the Class 4A regional finals
after the trinity scrimmage i still think it will play out like this

1st
HHS 14 Highlands hot out the gate
BCHS 7

2nd
HHS 7 couple ball bounces for Boyle and a long Cox run or two
BCHS 14

Halftime
21 -21

3rd
HHS 7 Slugfest continues
BCHS 7

4th
HHS 10 Highlands grinds out the rest of the game with smart veteran
BCHS 3 play

Game
HHS 38
BCHS 31
I think Boyle Co. is with out doubt a top 5 team in the state counting all class. I think highlands is just slightly ahead of them and I mean very slightly. This game to me is a toss up, anybody's game. I think that it is going to come down who is going to win the turnover battle and special teams making a key play late in the game. I just feel like Highlands are going to make more big plays and make some key stops on offense. Highlands just has a knack for winning big games like this one. But with that said I wouldn't be to shocked if the rebels grind one out and come out with a victory.

Birds- 31
Rebels-21
Highlands by 4 TD's
This game won't be close from start to finish Highlands big they will get to see the bombs and see the big guy run wild on them Highlands by a least 28pts.
It looks like the game will be broadcast live on the Internet on Z-105 WRNZ-FM. Broadband is recommended. Furthur info can be found at the following address: http://www.hometownlive.net/
I will be listening as I cannot make it to the game. This is a matchup of two great programs that will likely meet again in the playoffs. Although the game is being played at Boyle County, I am predicting a win for Ft. Thomas Highlands 35-21.
Only one picking John Hardin so far? Are they that down this year?
Also, why is everyone picking Dixie Heights in 6A? Is the rest of the state that weak that Dixie can make it to the finals?
Trinity and Ft. Thomas Highlands are my only picks for now to win 6A and 4A respectively and I won't be whistling Dixie anytime this season.
I'm amazed at the like of respect for Boyle in this thread.over the past 3 seasons they are 43 and 1,with two state titles, and have won 30 straight games. yet several posters seem to think Highlands is gonna blow 'em out,I agree Highlands is a slight favorite, but they're not gonna come to Ballard Robinson Field and blow Boyle out.AINT HAPPENING.

First of all Jack I sincerely appreciate your loyalty to Boyle County. I don't know you, but I'm sure you along with many others have played a role in Boyle being the program that it is. However High School football can be rather cyclical.
I think this is a down year for Boyle and Highlands is catching Boyle at a pretty vulnerable time. Next year, who knows the shoe may be on the other foot. I can assure you there is no disrespect for the Boyle program.

I'd be very surprised if Boyle is able to put 31 points on a team that Trinity only scored 38 against. Granted, that was a scrimmage and not a game, but both teams were knocking heads like it was for real. On the other side of the ball, I would also hope our defense doesn't give up 38 pts. If you throw out the 39 that Lone Oak scored in the double OT championship game in 09, a Boyle team hasn't given up that many pts (38) since the 07 season. I look for a much lower scoring game from both teams.

I think they're OK at LB, but the O-line and QB are big question marks.

We return All State linebacker Zach Hester. The linebacking group is the least of my worries on this Boyle team.
I'm picking Highlands 21-14. I think this is going to be a GREAT game and a HUGE measuring stick for both teams. I wish I could be there, Goodluck to both! Aside for the score I chose I would much rather see Boyle pull it out though!
